If I wanted to continue to build RFA teams and I were to gift him levels to get him to 60 and then quest him to 70, would I be able to craft him gear through Black Smithing that would allow him to boost RFA groups through the old instances?
    Aparantly Nobody mentioned this...
but if you have 5 accounts Linked together (as i assume you do, cause you mention granting levels to the pally on 1 account) the pally can not boost the other 4 while still getting the 3x xp boost

the 3x xp boost ONLY works if the linked accounts are in 1 party, and within level range

if you have 1 character at a higher level, the rest in the group whom are linked to this pally will just get normal 1x xp..

you are QUICKER off, just leveling a new team to 5 with bonus, than boosting with a pally with no xp bonus

That depends on how the accounts were linked together. The question that was asked was about how to boost with a fresh 70.
    Norgannon
    Paladin x 1 - Level 70
    Paladin x 4 - Level 26
    Shaman x 4 - Level 70
    Warlock x 1 - Level 62
    Warlock x 4 - Level 10
    Hunter x 1 Level 15
    Hunter x 4 Level 10

You don't need high armor for boosting. The tooltip is your mitigation against equal level mob. Mitigation is based on attacker's level.
You are partially correct, the tool tip is mitigation vs same level mob and it is based on attacker's level. But, you are not automatically at armor cap for lower level mobs. You can figure out if you are at armor cap for the mob you are fighting with the following formula (only for mobs under level 60).

    CAP = 3*(M*85 + 400)

CAP being amount of armor needed for full 75% mitigation.
    M being mob level.

In SM Cathedral mobs are level 36-40. Using the above formula you will be able to see that to be at full 75% mitigation vs all mobs you need to be at 11,400 armor. So, armor does matter as a fresh 70 will likely not be at 11,400 armor.

Also while poking around I found this http://thottbot.com/i32063 Earthen Elixir. Would be great for boosting, even at armor cap vs the mobs you are fighting.
