Default dual monitor question, hopefully some one uses two monitors..

I am dual boxing using two 22" gateway lcd monitors. I use ultramon as the software to move stuff from one to the other. It all works well until I want to make my two accounts in wow, one on each monitor, use full screen to up FPS rate. It appears t hat either ultramon or using dual monitors period will not allow full screen usage of two instances of the game wow.

Has anyone been able to do full screens of same game on both monitors? or is it totally impossible?

go into your wow video options and set them both to Windowed and Maximized. This makes it so that both instances of wow run full screen but you can still click between windows without minimizing them.

It is not possible to run full screen mode on more then one instance effectively at all. And it is not recommended either.

Run all, even the one on your main screen, in windowed/maximized mode. So you can change between windows much faster.

Depending on his hardware two could run just fine at full size. Definitely sounds like a windowed vs. full-screen issue. You might have to live with the borders but try the maximized option in the videos option and if ultramon can move a wow window to your other screen then great otherwise just move it over as a bordered window then maximize using the windows control box on the border.

If you do have performance issues try this from in wow on both windows once they are running and you are logged in.

    /console maxfps 60
    /console maxfpsbk 20

The maxfps has to be set before the maxfpsbk will take effect. What it does is lower the frames drawn on the window that is not in focus. 60 or whatever your highest refresh rate for your monitors are what you should use for maxfps unless your system is really chugging then go with less like 30.

Play with the maxfpsbk (and maxfps) until you get a good combo for performance on your system.
