    Default 2nd keyboard and screen

    Hi,

I looked through the guides and all the hardware links i followed were listed as having been removed so I'm going to go ahead and ask this here.

I just recently set up my second account and started running two copies of wow on my machine. I've been using keyclone and have gotten the basics down. The basic reason I'm running another copy is simply to have my own healbot tag along with my main(just to give an idea of my reasoning and focus for my 2nd account). I've decided to set up a second monitor so I can have both toons maximized at all times w/o having to set up the multiscreen tool.

My main question is whether or not theres a trick to running two monitors. I have my monitor plugged into my videocard but also still have my default monitor plug in. Is this where I plug my second monitor? Or do I need some sort of splitter for my vidoecard monitor output? Also is it feasible to set up a second keyboard(since my second account is just for a healbot I'll prob just need Keyclone for 10 or so keys max for controlling said healbot). I plan to download software so I can use my main mouse w/ both monitors, but if any experienced multiboxers have recommendations or advice, I'd very much appreciate any and all help.

Thanks to all of you guys and gals who figure this stuff out. Dual boxing has really changed the way I look at gaming.

What operating system are you using? If Windows....

I use a single monitor, but I did try plugging a second one in (which killed my framerate, which is why I still use one). Had to restart Windows (XP), but I was then able to set up how the second monitor was used in Windows' display settings. You shouldn't need any special software - Windows just treats the other monitor as an extension of your desktop. I DID find that I couldn't run any windows in "full-screen" mode, as they wouldn't let the mouse pointer leave that screen. With all WoWs in windowed mode, everything worked, it was just clunky (not to disuade you - my cpu is getting out-of-date).

hi if your using vista there's an option in windows itself to use 2 screens, its at your control panel/personalisation/display settings (you must have 2nd monitor connected before starting your pc)

if your using xp then i reccommend going to the website of your videocard and download a support program since xp doesn't like it when u connect 2 monitors to your system.

and for fps settings i got a nvidia 9800gtx and i run my main screen on 55fps (22"wide) and my 2nd on 30fps (17") if you got any slower model videocard i reccomend lowering the setting on your 2nd screen to 15fps

btw you can set the fps in keyclone

hmm strange i couldn't get it configgured in xp, i use my 22" as main and have my 17" on the left side of it, so if i wanted to go from my 22 to my 17 then i had to go to the right side of my 22 because it sees the 17" as an axtension of 22" so i used a program of nvidia (don't remmember what its called) where i could set it all up

in your display properties, you can drag the monitor icons around to position the secondary on either side... i have xp on my work computer right now running dual monitors- 1680x1050 on one and 1280x1024 on the other.
