Default Pally, mage and a balance druid - what would you add to the group for 5 mans.

Well due to some dodgy decisions whilst levelling I have a 63 prot pally, a 70 balance druid and 2 60 frost mages to play with.

I want to put together a group for 5 mans and heroics but thought I would put it out for general discussion for some other views.

To give more scope for group composition I've decided to drop a mage.

So what two classes would you add to the above mix to round the team out. Which healer and which dps do you think would add nice buff synergy and utility.

Personally I'm thinking Resto shaman and a warlock. The shammy bringing totems and bloodlust, as well as ressing abilities, not to mention mail armour so buying a bit more time if drawing aggro and earth and fire elementals.

The warlock for curse of elements (Which will override earth and moon on the druid) but also for healthstones and wipe protection with soulstones.

I'm open to other ideas though.

Check out http://raidcomp.mmo-champion.com it's a great tool for figuring out group synergies. There was a thread yesterday that asked essentially the same question, and I think that the recommendation was prot pally, resto shaman, balance druid, warlock, mage. Personally, I'd go with a demo lock, and a frost or fire mage purely for the group buffs.

I'll check that out once I get home.

    Thanks.

I'd avoid the warlock AND balance druid together. The the warlocks curse of elements will override the druid's Earth and Moon, losing a big effect from it. For dpsers, the arcane mage, elemental shaman, and balance druid would stack together well, and the balance druid's debuff comes automatically with the first wrath or starfire hit - no special, extra spell cast that wastes time otherwise while dpsing.

Personally, even if my balance druid caught up in DPS, I'm not sure I'd replace my hunter with the druid though. The usefullness of misdirect and pet stun are used SO often in my heroic hunts, that losing them would be huge for me (not to mention the hunter does massive damage output).

Seems like you are missing a healer? Could use either a resto shaman, priest, or resto druid well. While I like the spamming ability of a holy paladin, I don't like losing group healing (though don't they have a Glyph that does that now?).

i like my pally boomkin mage priest shaman team.

can either have shaman hael or priest heal. w/e u prefer.

but this way u get a lot of buffs and a lot of unique armor styles, so everyone gets drops. u have a plate wearer, mail, leather, and 2 clothies.
