How to level

I am wondering what is the fastest way to level.

I currently have 3 accounts - might upgrade to 5. I have a 70 hunter(cleared SW on it), a 70 lock, druid and Was thinking about leveling some other chars, mages, pallies and maybe more shammies. I am pretty new to multiboxing - have been raiding on my hunter for ages so not much time for anything else but lately RL has made it impossible to continue raiding so thought multiboxing would be an interesting alternative.

I have read the wiki, searched the forum etc., but i am not sure it is completely uptodate. I tried the pet boosting and it didnt work - if I do a little dmg with my lowbie and than let the ungrouped hunter send in the pet to tear it apart it barely gives any xp.

I also tried to bring a lvl 10 to Deadmines with my lvl 70 lock. I had hoped for some serious xp gain and fast leveling but it really didnt go all that fast as I have read some places. Think I saw gains of 8 xp per mob which is about a tenth of just killing a normal mob with the lowbie it self.

Has anything changed? Is doing instances still the best way to level?

I also have a lvl 50 mage - any suggestions on how to get it to 70 in a hurry - was considering AOE grinding with an ungrouped healer - is that the way and any suggestions where to find a good kill spot.?

Blizzard nerf'ed the un grouped instance boosting method. You're best bet is to just grind away on a 70 for maximum speed. If you're accounts aren't RAF'd then yeah, the xp gains aren't going to be all that impressive. What I did on toons before I had my RAF accounts was just quest. Kill all the quest mobs with a 70 and turn in quests, once you do all the quests you can then go grind instances to get a couple levels so you can go on to the next area to quest with the 70 again. This gives you all the quest rewards, quest cash, quest rep for your toon. The only thing that is really annoying is pre-30 not having a mount.

As for AoE grinding in teh 50s range check out felwood for the timbermaw rep mobs. I always did really well with cloth and BoE blues there. Anywhere in WPL as well. lots of AD rep to be had just from grinding. You can also get a ton of XP if you go do all the Un'Goro quests at 50ish.

Sadly, MOST ways to boost are nerfed by now. Un-RaF'd, regular instance boosting is still a go, but nothing like the few days where you could get full XP from the pally/mage trick.

Fastest way to level is probably going to be by questing. There's a RaF 1-60 guide in the forums, just try searching for it.

It's also unavailable if you don't pay for it..which "I" think is unfair. :P

You can use your warlock to do some serious instance boosting since the patch. It'll still be pretty fast without RAF. They significantly raised the AoE caps, rain of fire can crit and you can cast it with a million mobs beating on you, and immolation aura does about 700 damage per second to an unlimited number of targets and can't be interrupted. Don't start with DM by the way, it's too many pulls, patrols, winds around... not a good boosting instance. Do SFK or Stockades.

Here's what I did:

Get glyph of voidwalker for 20%

1-10 Quest

10-22 SFK, can be done in a single pull - put your alts behind the gate.

22-30 SM Armory - 2-ish pulls

30-40 SM cathedral 2-3 pulls. Best part is you can pull the entire cathedral room at once now. Send your VW to morgraine, pull him back, metamorph and pop immolation aura and rain of fire and kill the entire room at once. it's wild

40-46 ZF. You can pull 3-4 rooms at a time, just train them back to your alts and seed of corruption there. Graveyard - sacrifice a vw, open all graves at once, blow up with metamorph. Stair event - single pull

46-60 UD Strat.
