Ungrouped boosting nerfed?

So I have been planning on power leveling a DK to be my new main single play toon that I will raid with upon release of WOTLK.

My plan was to have my 4 ele shammies follow and support my DK ungrouped through outlands to power through quests and to ensure my DK would get maximum XP.

Now I just did some testing of how this was going to work. I took one of my 60's to outlands, set the shammies up to follow his lead and left him ungrouped. Then I went out questing to get a feel for it. I started with a simple test of shooting a frost bolt at my target to tag it and then the shammies would 1 shot it. I was expecting to recieve full XP for this kil, instead I recieved only 200xp whereas if I had killed it myself solo I would get 1k.

I did some further tests and the more damage I did to the mob myself, the more XP I would get. Perhaps this had something to do with only 2 of the 4 shammies getting a hit on it before it died?

Anyway, when did this change to nerf ungrouped XP happen?

You may remember the guy that had a whole guild supporting him to boost to 70 when BC hit. I think he was 70 in 24 hours or less. This would not be possible now.

Has anyone else noticed this? If this has been widely published news I don't know how I missed it.

The guy who used a raid to help him speedlevel likely either 1) suffered the XP drop but the kills were happening so fast that it didn't matter or 2) used a bunch of pet classes to help him (see above).

You will need to tag mobs that are L62+ (minimum green con to L70) in order to earn full XP in this way. Or use pets.

I believe that when the whole athena boosting came about they shortly there after changed the xp that you would get.

(Prot pally runs through instance and grabs mobs but doesnt attack or do dmg while toon being boosted waits at the front, then once it gets back to the front mage enters instance, pally lays concencrate and then leaves group, and then leaves instance mage then aoe's the mobs down. With that the toon being boosted got full xp from the kills"

WIth that I am pretty sure that I read a few blue posts about them nerfing this, so I am sure that its affecting said xp your getting if they did.

It's always been like this as long as I can remember.

In order to get full xp from a kill using the ungrouped method, the mob must be YELLOW to the Lowbie and GREEN to the Highbe.

So from the above statement. So just to confirm, If I head straight to Zangamarsh and tag mobs with my lowbie and burn them down with my 4 x 70's I will get full XP for the kill on my lowbie?
