    Default Completely New Boxer

    Hey guys,

I just stumbled across dual - boxing this morning and it looks awesome.

I only have one account at the moment but if all works well i may purchase another. For now I'm going to try my main and a trial.

I'm running off one comp, with one monitor, will that work?
I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX video card.
500gb of hard drive, and 2gb of RAM.

Will I be able to dual box with this? And does anyone have some tips if I can run on this?

You might be able to get some information from this thread.

Regarding that you are "Dual" boxing. Yes, you are very well capable of running both on one monitor.

Your computer is also capable of running 5 accounts, so you'll not have a problem running only 2 WoW.

His CPU might not hold 5 though. HIs vid card and mem are ok. might want more than 2 gigs of mem though. turn sound off and 3+ is ok if you are on a dual core.

I also have a newbie question and thought I'd ask here since the topic is appropriate.

I've started with two accounts, one machine, two monitors. My problem is I'm getting under 10 fps on both monitors and it's very annoying. Here're my h/w specs:

Dual core Pentium 820 (2.8 GHz)
    2GB SDRAM at 533MHz
Dual 256MB Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX

Running only one copy of wow, I'm getting around 60 fps on my main monitor and around 25-30fps on my secondary monitor.

Any ideas how to improve it?

Switch it to horizontal span mode. That should vastly improve the FPS.

Yep, what he said. If you don't know how to do that. Go to your video card settings. If you use NVIDIA, it'll be in the NVIDIA control panel, under Display Options.

You'll switch from Dual View to Horizontal Span Mode.

Thanks, that helps a lot! Got to around 60fps on both monitors. I do have different monitors (one wide screen and one regular) though. And since horizontal span wants you to have the same resolution on both, the image isn't as pretty as it could be. But I can live with that.

Also, if someone is trying to do this - I had an old version of nvida control panel, which didn't have a setting for horizontal span. Here's a link to an updated version: http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_do...bit_93.81.html
