Default What about mb Priests in 3.0.2 and WotlK, are they viable? ( pvp bg)

    i have atm 5 lock 70 setup and 4 locks a and a priest 70 setup.

While i was setting up my priest after the patch struck, i came to think that healing classes, at least for the time being ( dont really know about when lvl 80 hits..), are quite powerfull. My priest was originally healing priest with +1880 healing and really crappy +200 damage or something around that damage aerea. Now in the patch i ended up with just over +1000 spell power. So to use the old terms of +damage/ healing, the priest now have 1000 damage / 1880 healing, Up from 200 damage/ 1880 healing.

I know this is not balanced around lvl 70, but for level 80, but i was thinking of probably using my raf to level up some priests to join my other 70 priest and do some pvp ( bg mostly ) as they might do pretty good in bgs hence the "semi good gear by todays standard 1000/1880 damage and healing" is quite nice

I havent really thougth too much about this issue, and want some of the topp feedback i can take in consideration before i spend this next month leveling up some priests.

My priest's +healing tailor set is fairly decent damage now.

At one point I was messing around with a Disc/Holy build, based around decent heals and smite/holy fire.
A level 70 version, very quickly made, is something like this: http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?prie...00000000000000

Of course shadow is also a good option for pvp priests as is deep discipline.

multiboxing disc priests is fun. I've only done two at at a time of course, but I can imagine 4 or 5 would be a riot

Ye, and it would be really hard to take down a disc priest with pvp gear, and really 4-5 of them. 5 x reflective shield really hurt the "ill aoe them tho deadth" people. 5x renew on the player in need would help out too. 5k ticks is ok

I enjoy healing in bgs, and think people will appriciate that i do a combo of dps/heal instead of full dps maniac.
I dont like the idea of grinding those 3-4 priests up, but i will consider them a tough competetor to my 5 lock team atm.

Do you think it would be worth the grind?

That and all the prayer of mending bouncing around + divine aegis really makes them tough to take down. I rolled a couple bg's with my 2 priests specced disc and just laughed at warlocks who dotted me up and seed of corruption and all it did was bounce pom back and forth. And if you wanna heal., you can keep people alive for a very long time with multiple priests

Personally I really like 1 priest 4 locks. If you spec the priest shadow the synergy is awesome, and if you spec holy it helps a lot too as locks with healing can do a lot (hellfire, lifetap, etc).

I think when I hit 80 with them I'll probably respec the priest disc for PvP assuming its still awesome like it is now. I had switched from shadow to holy just before 3.0.2 because shadow had horrible mana efficiency with multiboxing, as spirit tap rarely kicked in. Now, with the new mana efficiency talents and the 20% reduced mana cost for shadow word: pain glyph, my shadow priest has AWESOME efficiency (as SW:P is the main spell I cast), so I have respecced shadow and my mana only ever drops if I have to heal someone and then re-enter shadow form.

Personally right now in outland things are awesome - dot 7+ mobs (just need 1x SW:P and 4x corruption to easily take a mob down in 9-10 seconds), use 2 aoe fears, get tons of xp and loot, repeat.

Not anymore, unfortunately. None of the priest debuffs benefit the group anymore. Shadow weaving only affects the priest, and although I'm not sure if Misery benefits the group, it sucks now anyway. Unless there's a new ability I didn't notice, I don't believe speccing the priest shadow benefits the group in any way.

It was pretty nasty before though, both my priest were shadow and when they first hit 70 with only a few hundred spell damage, all the dots were ticking for 400-500+ due to all the shadow debuffs stacking. Of course they would go oom after 1-2 fights and would have no way to get the mana back. I'm running both of them as disc/holy at the moment.

By synergy I wasn't specifically saying damage based..

    I meant macro based.

Shadow Word pain matches up with corruption
devouring plague matches up with curse of agony
vampiric touch matches up with either unstable affliction or haunt
mind blast matches up with searing pain
Mind flay matches up with any drain spell

    etc.

Yeah, but that's not what synergy means

I think you're confused, that is exactly what Synergy can mean. It means the abilities of the two classes can benefit each other. How is 2 classes with abilities that match perfectly and synchronized cast times NOT a benefit?

3.the cooperative action of two or more stimuli or drugs.

I'm pretty sure that fits #1 perfectly. In fact it fits it better than how you're trying to define it (the damage bonuses of the priest benefitting the locks).
