Hello everyone. I recently (about 2 weeks ago) started dual boxing. I have 2 lvl 50 shamans right now, and I am LOVING IT!!! I have been having some troubles here and there, but time after time I have answered my own questions and figured things out for myself, thanks to this forum, as well as a few other places!
After I get to 60 (which I hope to have happen before the 26th, I will start lvling a dual moonkin group. This is what I wanted from the start, but being that there are so many shaman resources for dual boxing, and wanted the experience first, I started with them.
My original goal that I am still going to try for is dual boxing 2 shaman and getting at least a 1600+ arena ranking. I am very doubtful I will acheive this, but it will be fun trying!
Then my second goal is the moonkin, same goal, 2v2 1600+ ranking...
But I did something stupid. I started reading about the deathknight. Then all these ideas flooded my silly brain...
I began to research this question a lot... and found little answers that were satisfactory.
For pvp, I understand that meleeing is a HUGE issue, as it greatly increases a lot of risks for pvp...
However, for pvp, what is the best support or dps class to dual box with the Death Knight do you think? Being that they are not out yet, I don't know how much experience everyone has with this idea... But here is what I am thinking:
Death Knight + Healadin, This is kind of a lame combo, in 2 respects. It is lame because you have 2 plate wearers, and one of which is just a dedicated healer. But also lame in the respect that the paladin is useless for DPS almost. Which can kind of suck a bit. I know back in the day lots of people ran a warrior and healadin to Great amazment in 2v2 arena and did very well for themselves. But I am sure more then a few times, the healadin jumped in to save the day and land the last few blows with or without the warrior still alive.
Death Knight + Priest, Priests can range DPS, meaning that can be on follow and do some decent damage, and heal when needed. Making them very effective for this team. BUT, they are just so freaking squishy. STill they can have some nice synergy. Also, with the AMAZING levels of different abilitues for CC in pvp, the preist is looking amazing at stun locking entire teams almost.
Death Knight + Lock, as above, they can do some awesome moving DPS, which can be exciting, and can kill things fast, which is good, but they both really only worry about healing themselves, and not both... Making it pretty difficult if I am facing a team that has 1 or more decent healers in it. Still, the synergy makes this team almost an amazing idea.
Death Knight + Durid, almost as amazing as priests and locks put to gether, but not as amazing in either aspect as one of them. They are moving DPS, and moving healing. They have more movement healing then priests (instant casting healing and Hots) and a few of there cool and most annoying dps attacks (moonfire spam FTW) are instant cast. Plus, being able to barkskin (or whatever it is) and do AOE indestructably, and/or ninervate sounds pretty sick. They are both tougher then warlocks/priests, and have both things that either class excells at.
Death Knight + Mage, how much more AOE can you really ask for from 2 different classes in this game? Remember when paladins were called AOEadins... and running one to tank and having a mage aoe behind him was an amazing pvp and pve combo... however, now with Death Knights crazy strongness (2 teir 1 talents that boost them to amazing damage stopping abilities, like adding 10% parry and 35% armour and stun resists) sounds really good. With the mage backing the DK up, games should be quick. But again, It is kinda scary thinking that if the mage (with its paper armour) gets killed fast, then I am SOL. And being that neither class can heal one another (unless they are both undead via the DK abilities) then they are kinda cemented into oblivion before they start.
Death Knight + Hunter... I don't see what could be good about this combo for dual boxing pvp...
Death Knight + Rogue... Same as hunter
Death Knight + Warrior... Same as hunter
Death Knight + Shaman, Seems kinda cool, however most shaman abilities (besides shocks and a few other ones) have cast times. Which will make you have to keep the deathknight still, and reducing DPS.
hmm......
Right now, I am thinking either a durid or priest to aid the death knight in 2v2 arena matches....
What do you guys think? Undead seems like most needed, to be able to break stun and silence and whatnot effects fast.
What of those combos will make the strongest team? THey have to be able to do lots of damage, and not be stunningly hard to dual box in pvp. (ie, not 2 hand to hand classes). Like which ones would have the most synergy/survivability rate?
Take into consideration lvl 80 talent trees and abilities, as these teams will be for lvl 80.
And don't forget to add any other comments or critisms, as they are often needed!
