Hi,
I just got everything setup on my 5 box setup. I started with 5 trial accounts to see how I like 1-20 grind before reactivating my old accounts (I have 2). Its been a long time since I played WoW, I plan on doing mostly PvE - instances. I have a standard 3xlock,1xpriest,1xmage party now. Once I reactivate - I plan on swapping in a lvl 19 twink pally to tank (replace one of the locks).
Questions:
Currently I'm running with no UI add-ons and I found I've run out of places to map macro's to mainly for healing the party (no AOE heal yet). Is there a way of doing this with out a GUI mod and if not what is recommended?
Also I'm currently running 5 copies of WoW in their own directories, how do folks handle patches? I'm currently plan on patching one copy then replicating that copy and then updating the WTF/accounts dir for the macro info.
How do folks handle multiple targets for instances? Do you setup a focus macro for each toon (for pet to off-tank/seduce/poly) and have a main assist macro for burning down the main mob?
I'm running on 2 PC's currently with Keyclone, I was initially set on doing hardware but WoW seems to run well enough on my old systems at least for this test. The benefits over hardware are everything on one (or in my case 3 screens) and easy mouse control for individual non macro actions).
Lastly, when I swap out to the pally - I expect my DPS to drop due to replacing the lock with a pally. How do fellow boxers spec their pally for good agro retention and decent dps?
Also I've seen a few folks talk about getting their following toons to face the mob. I use the standard spread macro, hit that a few times to get a decent spread of the party than hit follow macro. This will usually put my main at the center with the mob and the rest of the party in a circle around the mob facing it.
Thats about it - played last night for a few hours and got to lvl 11 for my partyI'm on Suramar. Got tons of tells from folks asking about what I was doing referred them back here.
Thanks!
