Default New - Which Software To Use

I've been reading the forums trying to find an answer but am unable to get a difinitive answer. I have 2 WAR accounts and I'd like to 2box them on 2 seperate machines (main acct on a desktop and second acct on a laptop). Both PC's are networked (laptop is wireless). Everything I've found through my search is about full control. All I'm looking to do is set up my numpad on my main keyboard to control my second account (laptop). No other keys on my main PC's keyboard should be passed to the laptop, only the numpad on the right side of the keyboard. Which software solution would be best for this?

Synergy and Keyclone should work well for that.

Thanks for the response. I just installed and tried Synergy but unless I'm missing something I don't think it'll do what I need. In order for me to send key presses to the second PC I need to move my mouse across to that screen. What I need is something that will "lock" only my numpad to the second PC and let the rest of my main keyboard control the main PC.

My set up currently has a mouse and keyboard for the second PC already but due to limited space the keyboard I have for the second PC requires I reach to press any key. So, I'm trying to use my main PC's keyboards numbad to control the most important and commonly used hotkeys in the game on my 2nd PC.

Since KeyClone costs money I don't wan't to buy it just to find out it wont fill my needs either.

In a nutshell I need the ability to send specific keys to the second PC without having to move my mouse to that PC or "select" that PC in any way.

It was a package deal. Keyclone for cloning the keys to another WoW instance. And Synergy for the Keyboard Mouse switching between different PC's.

You could try autohotkey / octopus / others mentioned on this board.

Octopus has a build in KM functionality (for keyboard and mouse switching between different PC's). But also the ability to clone keys to other wow instances. And it has a build in maximizer which might come in handy.

Also Skarlot the author of Octopus brought us better software KM switching. So you could use octopus just for cloning the keys and interbox alongside. Interbox has been made for proper KM function. It is better than that what Octopus has build in.

If you read a bit more you will eventually understand what piece of software does what and why one would be better than the other. They all have their charme.

Octopus is free and has all in one functionality.
Keyclone is payware but GOOD support from the author on this forum and through direct communication. And allows for a leaderless setup that I have not yet seen with other software.
Synergy is opensource and there is a version that will clone keys. It is platform independant. So if you box Ubuntu + OSX + Windows this is your KM setup. I have used it in the past to clone keys also but it was a bit different from what we have now. I would macro a keysequence. Press key -> move to other pc -> press same key -> move to other pc -> press same key -> move to first window. (this was my first real boxing : D)
Interbox is ment to be the most stable and accurate KM switch out there. Easy to setup.
AutoHotKey takes some time to setup but can do all you want it to do if you are into scripting.
    etc.

OK I undertsand now. Thanks for the info.

Regarding AutoHotKey, how difficult is the scripting? Are there any in-depth tutorials on the scripting that go into detail how to script the functions one would need?

You are now on a point where you really should dive into the wealth of posts on this subject already out there. I can give examples or rate it with stars. But it won't help you until you have tried out for yourself.

One I forgot to mention is HotKeyNet : http://dual-boxing.com/forums/index....ight=hotkeynet

I believe I finaly found my answer. Use Keyclone as a whitelist.

Now the final question I have is... does keyclone know the difference between the numpad "1" key and the regular "1" key along the top of the keyboard (page up, page down etc.. as well since I'd need them to work regardless of numlock status).
