Thread: 5 boomkin?

I am currently sporting a full five box of Balance, Improved Boomkin Druids... I had a nice head start on this, because my first multi box team experiment long ago, was with three boomkins, and they have allways been boomkin.. I just kept them leveled up because I like my bank toons to all be 70's. The RAF program, and a pair of transfers from those accounts to my "main 5" took care of the rest. To bad I missed the faster 60 to 70 level bonus now in th egame, but oh well.. it was still allot of fun.

We are all 70, and working on gear upgrades as fast as I can. I have to tell you guys, It is very powerful. The insect swarm stacking debuff, the improved fairie fire, our aoe starfires, mixed with the trusty wrath spam is devestating. The best part is... rogues dismantle does all of jack shit to your armor, so you can stand in their face, happly melting their faces off, while your treents (get the improved ones) break every last bone in there bodies. Rogue + treents + CoS = dead rogue any way.
Grab any gylph that will increase your wrath speed, damage, or buff your insect swarm in any way. You opener should allways be starfire if you have range on your oponent, followed by an insect swarm, a quick moon fire, then wrath until dead. Save your treents for the rogues. For those of you switching from Shaman groups, you will see an impressive increase in your dps, when compared to what we were doing before this last patch nerfed us. If this holds true into the actual expansion, this will be a very exciting class to multibox...

Also.. do not underestimate the fun of having your whole team stealth able. Sneak to a nice forward firing position, and rain down hell on a confused, and by the probably demoralized enemy.

If nothing else.. the five boomkin set up is just plain fun.... even when your getting killed... its still fun.

So what I'm wondering is...what's the contingency plan for fear bombs? Because as far as I can tell, it's "oh shit!" and hoping you can kill any warlocks or priests before they get in range.

Is starfall damage decent in pvp? Just wondering how effective popping out of stealth and getting off 5 wrath/starfires would be against most classes.

You are definatly right about the fun factor, I've been meaning to level up multiple groups while I still have the RAF bonus but I keep coming back to the Moonkins
    2019 (40 - Priest/Mage/Mage/Mage/Mage) (16 - 5x Druid)
    2008 (60 - 2x Paladin 3x Mage) (64 - Moonkins) (70 - Shamans)

Starfall's main problem seems to be that it is capped at 20 hits, and dispellable. Yeah, there are AoE caps on everything...but they went up again. It's not a Mage, but what is besides a Mage? It's still pretty hot. 5x + stun would at least be worth casting. The fact that it can be dispelled OFF OF THE CASTER while it's running over 10 seconds (12 glyphed) is pretty suck, but that's hardly a new problem for DoT users. It's not perfect, but still seems more than worth making use of.

That got away from me a little bit, but hopefully I got the point across. I plead lack of coffee.

Pvp trinket and vigilance... Thats about all you can do against fear, also choice of fighting terrain.. If they cant fear you very far, the recovery is easy. Also.. you must learn to fight with your team seperated. Learn to turn individuals while still moving the others and think in terms of your toons being two teams rather then one.... Separation and bombardment is ver effective. Good multiboxing requires, in my opinion that you have multiple monitors, that can show you each toons viewpoint large enough for you to see the action and plan around it. This is what I do as far as world pvp, and BG. I do not arena, because Ive allways hated it. Getting slamed with fully geared teams when I was in quest blues near the begining of arenas in low brackets ruined them for me forever. Thats a topic for a different day I think.

Just hit outlands and at only level 59 i can kill level 59 mobs with only wrath volley. Sometimes they are not downed with only one volley but then they are very close. I don't even have the good spellpower gear yet. Very exciting.

Starfire is just off the hook.
