Recent Experiences with DB Haters

I have noticed something weird as of late - my shammies are resting and inactive, instead I'm playing druids.

It seems less common to MB druids, shamans have their obvious advantages - and so instead of the usual 80%hate/20%other responses, I'm down to more like 50%/50% - half the people I meet are amazed, wants me to do bearform or moonkin dance routine, asks for a quick help killing an elite for a quest (which I do, just as I would if I was singleboxing). There are still the haters, which often enough just stops for 10 seconds, inspects me, drops a "fag" "looser" "hacker" "botter" or otherwise comment in /say and rides on. A few goes to the extremes and I have to end up reporting them.

It may be, that my playstyle is different as druids - if I run by in travelform, and watch someone fight 2-3-4 mobs and it doesn't look like they are gonna pull it off, I drop 5 * Regrowth, 5* Rejuv and then continue to run off. 30-40 seconds later, I often receieve a big "thank you much" in a /w.

I have not stepped into battlegrounds on my druids yet - I guess I will give it a few chances before I end up doing the "/DND it's multiboxing, it's legal, look it up or report me but keep abuse to yourself please" standard message.

Anyways, OT - good read, nice to see that kids are still taught their actions have consequences.

I don't get too much hate for multiboxing on Burning Legion US. However I did notice that the hate seems to start out a lot stronger at lower levels and doesn't start to dwindle off until 61-70 (and especially at 70).

Yesterday though I got a hate message that kind of annoyed me. I still ignored it but it was extra retarded.

Logged in at revantusk village with my priest/lock team, spread out and was testing out macros to make sure they worked post-patch. Was fixing some stuff, and apparently a crowd had gathered around. Some punk kid standing there called me a no life loser. I said "How do you figure?" His answer was "You're a faggot nerd that will never get laid.".

So, I followed that up with "Ok, except I'm married and I have a 2 year old daughter". His response to this was "You're a pervert." Then he ran off. It got to me a little bit because it sounded like he was insinuating something about me and my daughter. I was tempted to /w him or report him or both, but then I just took a deep breath, used '/say what an idiot' so everyone else around me would hopefully realize he was a moron, and then kept messing with my macros.

Actually yesterday I got quite a bit of hate in Hinterlands (maybe because I leveled up 5 times in an hour and a half and it got to some people).

Was escorting the robot chicken in Hinterlands and a 70 paladin ran by me...I was thinking "oh crap", he ran past me like he didn't care - I saw him target the robot chicken and thought maybe he was going to be nice and not interrupt the long ass escort quest. After a second though he turned around, targetted a few of my toons, realized I was a multiboxer, then came up to me and started spamming consecration.

Well, right as he killed one of my toons, a 70 tauren hunter came out of nowhere and owned him. I was just about to thank the tauren greatly, but before I could he said "You're welcome stupid farmer."

Meanwhile I'm trying to resurrect my dead character and run to catch up with the chicken so I said "what? I'm not a farmer." He says "Well then you're a loser which is worse anyway."

Why did he even save me if he was just going to sit and insult me anyway? Oh well, I Help SO many people while I'm multiboxing, I keep a list of horde idiots and then as I get higher in level I make it a point to NEVER help them with anything and if they die to alliance or against a mob I just point and laugh 5 times.

I don't feel the anal thing is horrible, don't get me wrong. Some of it makes me laugh. But that's not the point. Blizzard, as well as others, don't like people typing the word anal. Obviously, I play their game so I have to abide by their rules. This is also a chance to teach a life lesson... on many different levels. That's my job.

I had to lay the smack down on one of my kids for being a jerk in game. Wasn't as bad as the kid you encountered but still. No problems from her since though.

It is good that Pops got involved, it is exactly what I did. Good parent. It is also cool to see you getting support from the general population for your random good deeds.

I wont even let mine play where i can not see their computer screens, and I regularly read their chat logs (they are stored in the game folder). It is not only to make sure they stick to civilized language, but to also make sure that they have not run across any perverted people. Predators are every where, and face it... Kids can be unduly influenced to easily when confronted with an older subject who they think is "cool".
Plain and simply, the internet is not a safe place for children, and should not be allowed to substitute for a babysitter. Oh.. and DO NOT let your kids have their computers in their rooms, ever... Its the family room or nothing in my house.

Most of the people i have run across have enjoyed the MB thing.

More and more lately, however, i get messages asking me how much i sell level 70 toons for. And while in STV in general chat there was a discussion about if i was a toon seller. I had never come across this before. They thought that the only reason you would have five of the same toon all leveling together was to get them to 70 (80 soon) and sell them. I tell them that i don't sell characters and that i am actually playing these guys. People have also thought i was a gold farmer. Weird.
