I would need 7 PS/2 Cables, and 1 Y-key.
But suppose I threw in another keyboard to control the slave computers without affecting the main computer, where would the keyboard connect to? Would I need an extra Y-key?

there are simpler ways that did not exist when most of the hardware boxers started.
back then, 18+ months, you could run 2 maybe 3 wows on a machine. today's machines can run 5 wows without much of a problem.
and if you wish to use multiple machines, you can use the same software solution to interconnect the machines:

i really thought about going software but considering the fact i already bought most of the parts to go hardware, ill stick with it. however i may check it out when i want to add some more instances to the slave comps, thanks for the insight
however, im still at lost here, do i just use the KM switch to control all of the slave comps with one keyboard or do i have to add another keyboard into the mix?
