    Default Random mousefreak?

I don't really know how to describe my problem so I will do my best...

Every so often I will be running and using mouselook to control my main toon, and all of the sudden I will be looking at the ground like my mouse moved on its own and then clicked. Has anyone else had this problem? It is really irritating because I have enough to keep up with trying to level my chars w/o having to constantly stop and correct my view.

    My setup info...

    3ghz dual core P4
    3 gigs ram
    asus striker extreme mobo
    XFX 8800 ultra video card

I am running two monitors setup in vertical span mode. My bottom monitor displays my main account at 1680x1050, and the other monitor displays my 4 alts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ive had this problem before while only playing 1 account

my solutuion was pull mouse apart and clean the buttons, but dont reccomed that

    either

1.(if buttons are seperate from mouse ie they can be pulled off) cleen underneath the buttons and the sections they sit on

    2. clean lense of your mouse (could of bumped buttons as mouse hit dust) use a cotten bud and gently bush the lense

    3. try new mouse

i am not sure wat you have tryed. but option 3 worked for me

1 and 2 worked for a little bit but still had problem

could be a number of things... if its an optical mouse make sure you have a SOLID mousepad.... mousepads with white/black/letters/pictures are horrible for optical mice. So go with a solid black/white/blue whatever..

could be a hair on the bottom of your optical mouse, could be software. In game there is an option to use Hardware cursor... try that. Just try a couple of things... I myself had this issue once and it was a hair at the very tip of the optical laser on the bottom of the mouse... blew it out with some canned air and never had that problem again.

I had this happening regularly with my optical mouse, which was an absolutely horrible thing when trying to play first person games like ETQW. It would happen more often for rapid mouse movement, but otherwise I could find nothing that would be causing it having tried different and no mouse pad. I replaced for a laser mouse and have not had the problem since.

I had the same problem. You can try solving the problem the way I did.

First make sure it's plugged in, if it is shout at it very loudly, if that don't work, try to punish it a little bit. I like to give it a few quick whacks with my keyboard. If that don't work simply unplug it, swing it around your head by the cable and trow it as far as you can, opening a window before the actuall throw might me a good idea. Then buy a new one. Using these methods you might find that you will have to test you keyboard the same way very soon, so when your out buying a new mouse, get a keyboard as well.

There are also faulty motherboards that cause this. I had several mobo that did random mouse freaks. I upgraded my mobo and they magically went away. <shrug>

I've had this only with optical mice and on 4 different PCs. I really think it's something like a hair or other debris that occasionally "flips" across the sensor. I've not tried upgrading my optical mice for laser mice yet but that's in the plans for Christmas gifts.

I also get this from time to time, but the interesting thing is, it only happens in WoW. I can play other games for hours and not experienced any "mouse freak" but as soon as I play WoW it inevitably happens. Sometimes it might happen three or four times a minute other times it might be fine for hours. I've tried various mouse mats, cleaning the mouse obsessively and even resorting to swearing. It's not limited to one mouse either, I've used to mice and experienced the same erratic behaviour from time to time.
