  additional 10% if your weapon is enchanted with Flametongue.
• *Added* Glyph of Lava - Your Lava Burst spell gains an additional 10% of your spellpower
• *Added* Glyph of Elemental Mastery - Reduces the cooldown of your Elemental Mastery ability by 30 sec.
• Glyph
  of Flame Shock - Increases the duration of your Flame Shock ability by
  6 sec and it is not consumed by casting Lava Burst. (Old - 3 seconds,
  didn't prevent Lava Burst from consuming it)

New Flame Shock Glyph is going to be nice. I think it will simplfy things for us instead of thinking well we need flameshock to tick the maximum amount of time.

From reading stuff around here regarding test/beta, they seem to be banking heavily on Lava Burst. I'm not sure that's a good thing.

I have misgivings about Lava Burst specifically because of all of the emphasis Blizzard is putting on it, which incidentally is probably exactly the reason for the over emphasis on Lava Burst ... to allay our misgivings in the first place.

It means we will have to get close to bosses to shock it or can we lava burst of the enhancement shammies flame shock?

Nah there is an ellie talent to increase Flame shock range to 36 yards whilst increasing lava burst crits a further 20%. I am looking forward to lava burst and a more functional flameshock tbh, I still remember trying to 5 box Princess at lvl 51 and repeatedly dying due to nature immunity and getting knocked back inside flame shock range :P

At least now we have options

I have mixed feelings about this:
On one hand: Sweet only have to put up with subpar dps for another two weeks until I get 75.
The other hand: Hey wait a minute, why do we have to put up with this at all? And what about new people leveling shaman 1-75, is this fair to them?

We have spent more time on Elemental over the past few days than maybe any other spec (I know that quote is going to come back to haunt me). We want to make sure the spells are doing what they're supposed to at 70 and 80. We do think fire makes all the difference at 80, but we're going to go back and make sure that opinion is grounded.

That is as close to admitting shaman are supbar as you will see a Blue ever admit. "Fire makes all the difference at 80" = We understand your damage is low, but hey on the bright side at 80 you will be fine thanks to Lava Burst!

Shouldn't have to be this way... put LB back to its original coefficient and then make LvB refresh Flameshock and voila! We will use it!

That blue post you linked goes on to say

One concern that I think is legitimate and that we would like to fix is Elemental's lack of AE. We realize that players will likely compare Elemental to warlocks and mages. Since Elemental isn't going to do higher single target dps than those casters, it's pretty crummy for Elemental's AE to be so dreadfully below theirs. I can't promise we'll be able to fix it in the next few days, but we will solve that problem.

So we might get a buff to some kind of AOE. What do we have now? Fire Nova/Magma Totem and now thunderstorm?

I think the key thing is, What if we don't want to buy the x-pak? I'm sure there are still people playing even now that don't have TBC.

What if I don't want to get to 80 for another 6 months? What if I just want to do 70 BG's?

Bliz has said in the past that they refuse to balance the game based on old content. These were blue posts from ages ago, so I don't know if I can provide links, but I'm sure no one is going to question the truth of that. There's nothing stopping you from staying 70. They just won't balance the game around it.
