Greetings,
I am new to dual/multi-boxing and noticed there isn't a lot out there for the Mac users so I was hoping to start a new thread. (Don't flame us, we are who we are =P). Honestly, I am a more of a Win/*NIX kinda guy who'se hardware at home is better off using his MAC. Anyway, I dug around and am hoping I am not missing the thread that already exists for the Mac community. If not..here we go.
First off, I read multiple benchmark test sites and they say WoW runs better on OSX Tiger than it does on Leopard. I have noticed a slight difference between the two. Secondly, from what I understand - the Intel based MACS can just use 3rd party apps such as parallel to emulate KeyClone rather than use the unsupported mac version CloneKeys. Myself, however..I am running on the older PowerPC infrastructure and do not have this capability. Don't get me wrong, my box is supreme 8GB RAM, dual 2.2GHz, 512mb video card and I am currently manually running 4 clients just fine, although, since I can only manually control about two i leave it at that. That is why I am here..so I can help automate the process.
What I have experienced so far is that after broadcasting to all 4 wow apps, I can emulate key strokes. However, I can only seem to emulate them when CloneKeys is "on top" of the other windows which makes it impossible to play/control characters. I am having the same problem with Ventrilo, at least i think its related - basically, I have to have vent on top in order to press to talk. Since I am not an OSX expert I have a feeling there is an environmental setting withint he OS itself that is doing this. I had a feeling it was related to the Dashboard always being on top. Can anyone provide their expertise on this matter? I am sure i am not the only one..
Please feel free to comment and/or make suggestions for all Mac OSX users out there. Let's make a home for Q&A
Thanks,
- Dray
