Well im pretty sure it isnt my ram because im using the ram from my old system and it worked just fine.
This is no reason for it not to be...

the handling and changing of the ram could have 'killed' it....
electric discharge could have 'killed' it
age/tear and wear could have 'killed' it..

just cause it work last day/last year/last computer is no reason not to look at it

at least try out memtest from memtest.org, run it for 10 minutes, at least a full pass (test 1-8) im quite sure the problem lies there

trust me.. been there done that
waiting on my ram to return from RMA as we speak, my old ram can run an entire night on memtest or prime, but my new ram just errored all the way

yeah im burning the memtest as we speak, i wasnt not going to try it, i just figured that wasnt the problem. it very well could be though.

    Another thought:
Im running dual channel ram, and im not sure if its the exact same (i matched latency/manufacturer/frequency) but i do know they were manufactured at different times and COULD be differnet. if my first set of ram "a" were mixed up with the second set "b" coudl that pose a problem?
where typicaly ch1(a-b) ch2(a-b). if i were to have installed ch1(a-a) ch2(b-b) and they were in someway different could that cause this problem? i would normaly try this myself but my heatsink is covering my DIMM sockets.

ive never had a system like this so im running in the dark inch:

    thanks

Check your ram voltage. I was having some crashing problems recently and I think it was because the default in my motherboard was 1.85V when my ram was rated at 2.0V. I didn't play a whole lot but after changing it to the proper voltage I didn't see a single problem.

so with this weve established somethings wrong, but is there a way to check WHAT exactly the problem is? if the ram is bad chances are its not all 4 sticks? i bought some new ram already but i have to wait for it to come and im going through the singleboxing reversion withdrawls.

i was just wondering if i we could somehow get to the bottom of this and fix the problem, ie remove the bad stick. i could just take one out at a time but my heatsink has engulfed the ram and wont let it out, so if im going to remove it id like to only do it once.
