    Default Hard Disk upgrade advice

I'm looking to expand my system a little bit and upgrade from one partitioned SATA HD and go with separate drives. I am a little confused as to what speed I want these drives to be. I prefer performance over cheap, but like anyone else, I am comfortable with the best of both worlds.

Anyone have an suggestions? Speed? Brand?

My Motherboard is an ASUS P5WDH Delux and I am running a intel dual core with 4 GB ram.

Note: I will be upgrading to Vista 64 (from 32) when I get the new drives. I plan on using the old one as a backup drive or something like that.

    Default

Western Digital 10k RPM 150GB SATA Disks

Faster speeds the faster you'll get data to/from the machine.

It's costly but it's worth it.

Buy 2, make them RAID/1 and you'll minimize your concerns for drive failure!

I have been looking into a bunch of hds latly, and I have found that research says an ssd will run better for wow (mind you if you are looking at dooing something else as in graphic arts, the rendering will take longer to do so with such a drive) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820147053 300$

In a Computer Power User test it scored a 19079 point on there test. Out of 5 SSD drives and 3 Hds,

For Defender it scored 121.2mbs, Gaming 119.7, Photo Gallery Imort 149.1mbs, Vista Start up 106.7 Mbs,
Movie Maker edit 65.2mbs, Win Meadia Ctr 92mbs, Wmp music addon 59.3mbs, Application Loading 61.6mbs.
In all of those, the only tests that it was surpassed in was, by 1mbs in movie maker (by another ssd), and in Win Media Center by 30mbs by a hd.

It fell far behind when utilizing when dealing with uploading and such things to file servers.. But as to a general programing reading of materials for the scores it gets, it will be the drive I put into my upcoming build.

If looking at a hd then I would sugjest a Velociraptor. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136296 170$
