Default How exactly do you multibox? (eg. software is working, but how do you maintain control of two+ characters?!)

I have Octopus installed, configured, and working but now I'm at the point of actually playing the game (eg. World of Warcraft) and I have no idea how to actually do this with 2+ characters.

For example, if I press 1 it will press 1 on all characters, etc. So, do I just pull a mob and hit 1 so all characters do their "first action", etc, etc?

How do you manage different characters grouped together like a rogue and a mage? (eg. the rogue needs to keep doing different combos but the mage needs to wait a bit, etc, etc)

then use different buttons. you cant have the mage following close if you plan on sapping anything. so make sure your mage breaks follow before you stealth to sap. then go ahead and start your combo while the mage does pyroblast or similar.

Vyndree your video is fantastic, it helped me months ago get started. It doesn't quite help him for his multiclass multiboxing.

Basically, you'll bind a DPS rotation macro (or specific spells/abilities, your choice) to your rogue (rouge for some of you) and leave those blank on your mage. For your mage, do the opposite.

For instance, On my warlocks, I have keys 1-5 as various macros and abilities that only the warlocks can use. I have keys 6-10 for my paladin (on the paladin, he doesn't have anything bound to 1-5) and then a couple things on - and = that they both can use at the same time. = is summon charger/felsteed, and - is demon armor on my locks and righetous fury, or whatever my threat increase from holy damage buff is, because they both have 30 min intervals.

If you have a macro that does a DPS rotation (ss, ss, ss, evicerate or whatever, more, more, more) on your rogue and one on your mage (frostbolt, fireball, fb, fireball, etc, etc) then you can put them both on the same button number (say number 2) and just continue to spam press that button until things are dead.

It does in a simplified way. /assist works regardless of class. However, one must crawl before they can walk and the video is a good starting block since he's already got his multiplexer set up.

That video should work well -- but to answer his second question -- I'd suggest at least watching through the video first, then going on to the more advanced ordeal of matching up abilities that make sense together (for example: fireball and shadowbolt, healing and potting, mind flay and drain life)

If you want more specifics on running multiple roles (classes/specs) at the same time, I don't have a video for that -- but I do have an article: http://vboxing.net/v/tiki-read_article.php?articleId=23

The second article makes the assumption that you can read simple macros. If you're having trouble reading or understanding macros, you can take a look here: http://dual-boxing.com/wiki/index.php/Macros
