Thread: Tough Choice...

    Default Tough Choice...

So I've been dual boxing with my Lock/Priest since WoW came out and I plan to switch my main to a DK when WoTLK comes around. I started to level a paladin on my 2nd account but now I am starting to wonder if it will be worth it. Should I dump my priest for a paladin to 2box with my DK (and lock when I lvl him) or should I stick with my priest and not worry about lvling a character all the way to 70 again and buy all of the mounts, etc. I won't have BoK and auras but Fort instead. Should I just keep going with priest or dump him for a paladin? Any experience from a melee who has a paladin and/or priest partner/duo would be great. Thanks in advance!

So I thought I would reword this to hopefully get some replies. Has anyone been able to use a Holy Pally as a successful 2nd box healer (not a main box tank)? The auras and such seem great but the flexibility of a caster vs. having to run the pally in, position, judge, attack, etc seems tedious but may be worth it. If so, I would love to hear about your experience with it. Thanks!

for 2 boxing, Pallies would be great, but only if all they did was heal. Pallies are probably the strongest and simplest single target healers around, but they have no caster damage output. Your Dk or lock would never die, but they'd pretty much be the only ones working. I guess it just depends what you want out of your healer. I'm currently doing 3 locks and Spriest and it's more than amazing how well that works, I'm barely using the priest's heals (she started out holy) and instead using her as another dps. A pocket healer is a pocket healer, could be a tree for all that it matters, but priests, shamans and even boomkins can respec or switch gear for decent non-melee dps.

With the changes to Healing into Spell Power, my priest would be able to do some nice SW:P/Smite casting while I don't need heals so I guess that would help. Not to mention even something as simple as wanding and staying back in the distance and out of AE range. I think I might just stick with the priest and instead lvl my paladin on my main account rather than 2nd account and have my priest heal/dps with him. Thanks for the feedback!
