Default 100% cpu used =(

Not sure if this is a hardware problem or software but oh well..

settings

2,8 gz quad
4gb ram
1gb 280 egva
Vista 32 bit

No matter what i do wow use 100% of all 4 cores and i dont realy have THAT manny mods

Ram use is 90% but the CPU is used 100% all of the time and i set them up to divide load over all cores.

Now my mate runs with 2.5 gz quad and a 512mb screencard with 4gb ram but he doesnt lag at galv and have higher settings then me on his slaves.

My main wow folder is on a 10000 rpm drive while slave 2,3 is on a 7200rpm and 4,5 on my last 7200rpm.

The wow windows isnt near my windows bar wich is hidden aswell.

Have you checked to see if the wow.exe is taking all those precious resources up?

Main - Lootdrone lvl70 Mage Bloodscalp 5box - Tioget, Tiodrone, Tioluv, Tiogriz, Tiobuzz q9450 - 4gb ram - 8800gt 512 - 400gb hd - 500gb hd

1 core alone could not run my "main" wow window so i spread it over 2 and now i even have 25 fps in shatrath at full settings!

My system is a bit weaker on CPU power with a Q6700 2.66GHz C2Q. I do have 8GB RAM and 64bit Vista though. I doubt you have a hardware problem.

I'd recommend that you grab Process Explorer from Microsoft's free offers and use that to look a bit closer. It's basically a much more detailed task manager view for your purposes.

Make sure you look at your CPU load per core AFTER you have logged in and finished loading the zone. WoW has insane CPU consumption on the login screen and CPU load may be higher when the zone is being loaded. I split my five WoWs between the cores, each client using one core, with the exception of 4 and 5 which share one. I use two WoW folders, one with max settings and resolution for the main and one with minimal settings and resolution for the secondaries.

I hope this helps.

Here is the setup i now run and i would consider it smoth (i doubt it will get higher in shatrath unless i get more ram but i dont realy care since my fps is constant 40-50 everywere else even at galv)

Main window with full resolution and all GFX settings maxed (no sound thought since i cant stand the wow ingame sounds)

Core 1 and 2

Second window:

Core 2

Thrid window

Core 3

Fourth window

Core 4

Fifth window

Core 3 and 4

What doesnt makes sense is why im not able to run it on one core while others are with weaker pcu. However i now run my games smoother then my mate pix (fu)

Yeah, it sounds like you have some processes (spyware, viruses, other applications?) that may be running in the background and is sucking down all of your processing power. Check your task manager, windows tray, and startup folder as quick first places to look for applicaitons that you may not need running all the time.
You should consider using a single wow data folder instead of many as you are now using.
Windows isn't really a "data transfert God" especially when multiple disks are used simultaneously, and you have a 10K rpm drive .. just use the symbolic links to set all the data folders point to the one on your 10k rpm drive. Give it a try, it should worth it !!
And, btw.. your extra gig of ram isn't used at all.. you have only 3gig mapped for your apps.. consider switching to vista 64 to use all the installed memory.

I know that vista 32 only use 3.3gigs but it aint realy a issue yet since i only use 80% and the only place it lags now is shattrath but i cba to upgrade just because of shatrath.

Computer still shuts down when its been on for a long time.
