So I do back up most of my stuff... but lately its been a pain keeping WoW backed up on my NAS server... So going through some old programs in my add/remove programs menu... For some reason.. I was thinking WoW but wanted to get rid of another software.. So I click WoW and clicked uninstall... I clicked ok... then I am like.. wait what..!?!?! What!?! Ohhhh you gota be shi#$%ing me! I mean it uninstalled in 1/2 sec.. I had just got all my macros the way I wanted.. Addonds installed... OMG So I looked around found some free software for recoverying files no luck... then I thought wait.. Vista has previous versions of files now.. So.. I made a World of Warcraft folder.. right clicked on it.. and clicked previous versions.. Hey look.. my WoW is back... Vista/Previous Files FTW!

    Ha!

Back in the dos days I often formatted disks. But using DOS i'm so used to typing C: for whatever I need. I should note I've done this a few times.

    Pop in a disk
    format /u /q c:

    then hit yes

Boom Harddrive quick formatted and formatted with the unconditional switch, which means no mirror backup. End result? Completely formatted Hardrive in secounds everything gone, no way of ever getting it back! I've dont this at least four times lol. The last time I made a batch file so I would get in the habbit of typing Disk and it world run format /u /q A:. that way there was NO WAY I could make that mistake again!

Ever since Windows XP I've never done this. I have however mixed up harddisks while making a Ghost image. Nothing like spending three hours perfecting a "perfect" image to deploy at work to realize you just ghosted your drive over top of it!

lol yeah, I now have a 500GB External Harddrive I use to Ghost to. The drives in the machines are either 60 or 80GB so it's about impossible to mix the two up. I did however learn to always make a new folder for EACH image. Case in point. I made a image I named "accrm007" Afterwards I made another image called "accrm004". Ghost has to make multiple files when its a large image so it took the first 7 off the name and makes files like this
    accrm001, maccrm002, maccrm003.maccrm005

So when I made the next image It took the first seven, which was the same and overwrote them. Oops! Live and learn, but the best part? See I made the image, then tested it. Worked so what I was doing was making room specific images. After I tested the one, I'd load it up change the printer and a couple software settings, run systemprep and reimage it again with the new name. Well I did eight images in a row. Closed out the "ticket" as the project was complete.

Next day went to image a lab i was prompted for the next span. Big WTF momment until I realized what I did. I can laugh about it now, it wasn't so funny then lol.
