By 80th I'll be changing over to a FTL setup
If you need any help setting it up simply ask (although if you then still use IS for key broadcasting my help would be a little limited (as i inly tried is for the pip and broadcast my keys with hkn).

And if you go the 'unconventional-way' and develop a better system without using focus, i'm more than happy to hear

I have a pretty good grasp on how and why FTL works, the only reason I didn't do it was the need for a 5 condition macro per spell.

"5 condition macro per spell. "?

Why dont yeh use a seperate assist key that way all the other spells macros dont need "5 condition macro per spell. "

Because for just about 1,000 levels now I've been doing it without needing an assist. For about 25 levels I tried using an assist, and it's far less efficient. Even when I got past the muscle memory issues it wasn't as accurate or as consistent as /cast [target=focustarget]Spell.

    Hey, thanks for this.

I do have one question. How do you handle hex if you are using focus for targeting?

I don't. I'll be dealing with it somehow soon though.

Originally I started with a focus based system for my pally/mage/mage/priest/priest group and found it wasn't reliable, so I changed to a fixed leader party1target based system for everything, free up focus that way... With this team I tried using /target based CC macros while using /focus for dps, the problem is that while focus is set and remains (even after a mob dies) target doesn't necessarily do that, so I had many interesting situations where target loss caused sheeping of the wrong target, etc.

I'll most likely move on to a FTL with sticky targeting, I saw the method to use /click (button with your targeting logic in it) followed by /cast spells and realized that my biggest beef with FTL was creating a big complex macro for each cast, if you need to change/update you are fixing a LOT of code, with the /click/cast technique you have 1 targeting logic button inline with all y our casting buttons... much easier to work with.

    Zanthor,

Sorry if i am not understanding this setup.

I have been playing around with it and everything works great except my keybindings for the FTBar are not carried over to the NFBar... this means if i bind my LB to "R" on my FTBar then when i don't have a focus who has a target i have to click the LB icon and can't press "R" because the "R" is not carried over. I have the same actionid# for each of the buttons on each of the bars so i thought the keybinds might be carried over. When i drop a spell into the FTBar it also goes into the NFBar but the keybind is not carried over. Is there anyway to get "R" bound to the same spell in the same button slot on both bars? This would be helpful for when i pvp solo as well as pvp in MB mode. I dread having to click all my abilities when i am in solo mode.

I would also like the ability to have macros set up in my FTBar that would be cast on the target of my focus, but i can't figure out how. When i drop a macro written in the wow macro interface into an action button and cast it (a CL/LB macro) it says i have no target if i am casting from the FTBar (even when i have a focus that has a target that is hostile). If i cast my CL/LB macro (Again, in an action button not a macro button) from the NFBar it works fine. So it looks like wow macros can go in action button slots but they can't use the special targeting of the FTBar? If i change the button to a macro button on the FTBar and write the macro out in the macaroon interface it still says i have no target. The same macaroon macro written and on the NFBar works fine. I like to have my CL and LB on one key bind with conditions... anyway to do this with your method?

EDIT: I have another post in these forums about helping me to use Jamba to train my Hydra. I continue my efforts from this post there. As of now i have solved all the problems i talked about in this post and now i just can't figure out how to break follow. After that it is into the instances of outland for me!
