Default US players playing on EU servers?

Hi Guys i have yet another quick question.

Currently I am living in the UK but in 3 months I am immigrating to the US with my wife. Do any of you know what the latency is like playing on a EU server from the US?

Not sure if this helps but as an aussie I get 250 US 350-400 EU. Both very playable

I have had some US friendses. Latency wasn't much of a problem.

200ms, it's quite doable really, nothing like 900+ or shits. (unless your connection is just bogus, but nothing to do with the distance then. :P )

Anyhow, anything below a stable 400 is very playable, stable 400-600 is somewhat playable, above stable 600 or with lagspikes you'll start to annoy yourself. I'm pretty sure you can be below 400 however, easily. :P

Your latency will also depend on whether you're moving to the west or east coast of the US.

I played on the US servers for about 2 years, and while it was never unplayable (my ping was usually around 250-300), I did notice the huge drop in latency after moving to the EU servers (ping of 60-100).

I immigrated to the US 2 years ago to live with my wife and I used to play on US relms from the UK and didnt really have any issue with latency (I had blueyonder's 10mbit cable service). Best of luck with your immigration...it was a nightmare for me :cursing:

I doubt latency will be that much of an issue. The difference in time zones will probably be more of an issue. Being online during the evening in the US means that you're online in the middle of the night in Europe.

I played on a West Coast US server with a guy in Germany and his latency, when things were normal, was never over 300ms. He was able to tank and had no issues. I would expect you to be about the same going back the other way.
