Ok so I have a 64 paladin - I got my 5 shamans up to 70 already and now I'm trying to power my paladin up to act as a pve tank when needed. I'm sort of fixing my macros as I go, and so far its working OK but I know once I get to end game instances and/or heroics these aren't going to be sufficient.
Heres what I have so far:
F1 - tanking macro
/startattack
/castsequence reset=6/combat Avenger's Shield,Holy Shield,Consecration - Hit this once to pull mobs, and then twice more when they've almost arrived to set up the initial aggro generation. Also as needed throughout combat
mod:ctrl
/cast [target=targettarget] Righteous Defense (going from memory I think thats the name of the spell) - This one doesn't seem to work - the way I understand righteous defense is that it pulls mobs targeting a friendly onto the paladin, so if I'm targeting an enemy and I cast the spell on targettarget (assuming the enemy is targeting a partymember), then it should cast this spell on the party member and the enemy should start attacking me, right? It doesn't work. Looks like its targetting the friendly ok but the enemy never attacks my paladin.
mod:alt
/cast Hammer of Wrath
mod:shift
/cast Hammer of Justice
Ok so this is all I'm using right now. Aside from righteous defense it works ok but I know it won't be enough in the future. For one it doesn't use any seals or judgements which I'm sure would generate a bunch of extra aggro.
Anyone want to comment at all about how they set up their paladin for tanking? I didn't want to put this in the macro forum because I figured it went beyond macros as it could be any advice on paladins. Any input would be appreciated.
