    Palla tanking macros[/url]

This was a similar post I did a few months back.
Good info there, definitely something I'll look into when I progress to heroics.

I don't have mine in front of me, but my pally is basically one button for ranged pulls, one button for CC and one button for maintaining aggro.

Ranged button just has avenger's shield on it.
CC button has hammer of justice.
Aggro button has the following macro:

    /cast [mod:shift] righteous defense
/castrandom [nomod] consecration, holy shield, exorcism, hammer of wrath

I basically just spam the button, which is the same button as my DPS macro on my alts. Hold shift if I lose aggro, then continue normally. Pretty brain-dead simple.

Since I play this guy as my main, I use ClassButtons for seals/blessings and just click the seal/judgement buttons as needed depending on whether I need mana or heals or more holy dmg, etc.
    Now playing: WoW (Garona)

I have my team to 70, 4 shamans and a pally tank shamans include 1 resto. I personally dont bother with any macros whatsoever for my pally. I play it seperately because tbh using macros on a pally is kind of like using a brain surgeon to fix your tyre. I link all my shammys into macros and free play the pally I find myself using 3 buttons abilities after buffs on the pally. The pull frisbee, consecrate and holy shield . Maybe seal of the crusader too generate more holy aggro if im feeling funky. Most times on trash I dont even use consecrate because a pally creates aggro from thin air it seems sometimes and consecrate uses a ton of mana. I like this type of play because Im basically single boxing with a multi box team with me. Allows for a bit more freedom to have the tank independant from the macro tie ins too making it more fun.

Righteous defense will only taunt 3 mobs at are attacking a player. You have to cast it on a player. That is why people set up macros, so when you are fighting a mob and a party member pulls you are already targeting the mob so you use target of target to get the mob back on you (target=targettarget)
This used to be required now it is not necessary. You can target the mob and it works just like targettarget.

I actually don't even macro it my pally's tanking at all. I feel like that's the one character I want 100% full control of in every way.

If your pally is going to be your main, try getting a hotbar addon like bartender or w/e, then just click your pallies abilities and hotkey for all your shammies attacks/heals. Just make sure you have all your paladin's abilities unbounded lol.

You do not want avenger's shield or anything else with a cast time in the tanking macro.
You can not dodge, parry or block while casting a spell with cast time - which is not something you want when tanking.
Split pulling and Holy Shield and Consecration spam and you should be good to go.

If you are using your shaman along the pally, consider getting imp judgement of the crusader, adding another 3% crit fo the party.
Slightly offtopic: I'm pretty sure I have dodged lots of stuff, while casting and thus avoided getting my cast-bar pushed back. However, parry and blocking definately doesn't work.

Spellcasting does in fact make you unable to dodge, block and parry. The exception are instantcasts. Not getting pushback might be due to other reasons.

I use almost the same /castsequence as above with Judgement, Seal of Righteousness, Consecration, Holy Shield in it.

For a while I had Hammer of Justice in there, and found that when it was on cooldown it would get the macro "stuck" and stop working. Make sure you don't do that... I also put /use 13 and /use 14 before the /castsequence to ensure I get my trinkets off every time I can.
