Default Programming an X Key Pro USB

Ok, this is turning out not to be as intuitively simple for me as advertised or maybe I am just dumb. I have used Nostromos, G-15 and Fangs with no problem programming EQ to do what I want without reading directions, but even after finding every piece of info on programming the X-Key I can find, I am still coming up short.

I got the programming SHIFT + X so I can link X-keys to my ingame macro (just press escape and hold, then press shift and whatever then release escape), how to repeat a key press/command and so forth and thats mostly all I really need, but I cannot get X-keys to mimic my up, down, left, right keys.

    Flip to programming
Tap the X-key you want for the command
tap the key or combination of keys you want on keyboard
    Tap the X-key again
    Flip programming off

Doesn't work. I can get my character to jump and a number of other things doing that, but I cannot get him to move an inch when I bind directional keys to the X-keys. I have also tried making them repeat, no difference. I must be doing something basically wrong that's probably idotically simple.

    Default

Ok, figured it out and for people who might in the future stumble over this, all you do is:

    Turn x-keys to programming mode
    Hit the Xkey you want
Hit your up, down, left or right key
left click insert on the record/edit macro window
    choose KEY DOWN
    Left click insert again
    Choose On release
Hit up, down, left or right key
    Left click on insert
    choose key up
    click ok
