WotLK castsequences for shaman/druid (theorycrafting/long)

You get a ton of haste gear just from starter quests. I am not even 71 yet, and almost every single piece of my gear is from Northrend by now. And while I dont remember the exact haste number (downloading latest beta patch now, so cant log in), its quite a bit.

I'll have to read up on what changes druids get in cast times.. for now i use the following for all 3 of mine

/castsequence Starfire, Moonfire, Insect Swarm, Wrath, Wrath, Wrath

By the time Starfire hits again. the DoT effects of Moonfire and Swarm wear off...

Yeah, starfire might be a better starter. Since we wont need EM before 2.8 anyway (when CL hits), we might as well cast starfire (2.5 / 1,1 = roughly 2.3s cast) first.

To be honest, I'm not sure on the function of Improved Insect Swarm and how it could affect the sequence: "Improved Insect Swarm Rank 3 Increases your damage done by your Wrath spell to targets afflicted by your Insect Swarm by 3%, and increases the critical strike chance of your Starfire spell by 3% on targets afflicted by your Moonfire spell."

i just started leveling my druid. I have read through many posts about druids. Some of you that have level 80 druids on your team, have you come to a good solid spammable castequence or cast random macro yet for your druid? I have tired various sequences and cant seem to get the kind of dps I know my druid is capable of.

Yeah, after a lot of back and forth I ended up with this simple, yet effective druid macro:

/castrandom starfire, wrath

That's all. It'll take advantage of your casttime-shortening talents and do loads of damage. On my shamans I had (all three are retired now) FS applied manually and then:

/cast Lava Burst
/cast Chain Lightning
/cast Lightning bolt

and just reapply flameshock when needed. Still my druid with the simple macro above would outdps the shamans by more than 500 DPS. Also tried manual FS and /castrandom lava burst, lava burst, chain lightning, lightning bolt which didn't work well. For boss fights you may want to debuff the boss first with the druid. For mobile fights, you want to include insect swarm and moonfire.
