easier solution - stack all your windows on top of each other, don't use Pip/Maximizer to lay them out so you see all of them at once. Instead just launch all your WoW's without assigning them to different screen areas, run them all windowed and they will just "stack" one on top of the other, but only one is drawing at any time. You can assign PiP keys (F1-F5, whatever) so you can quickly swap windows.

I was having slow FPS (10-20 outdoors, 3-6 in shatt) while running 5 wows on a single PC, and it was absolutely miserable. I instead have changed to just showing 1-2 wow windows on screen, and having the rest be underneath the others, and my FPS has gone up a lot.

I might have to give that a go. I can see where it would improve performance if I was getting low fps outdoors but when I'm anywhere outside of major cities I'm mostly hitting my fpsmax setting on all windows.

I think magwo is right, upgrading the amount of RAM I have and as a result, upgrading my OS is probably gonna be it for me....gonna have to wait awhile for that tho =/.

Thanks again for all your posts guys.

Did you remember to turn down your max fps background setting?

What about installing a free 64bit os (ubuntu) and then upgrading the amount of ram I have? This would be within my budget but I don't know if its the right way to go about things.

wow doesnt run natively under Linux, you'd have to install emulators and stuff which will have a big performance hit.

Gotta be using WINE or CEDEGA... I put about 16 hours into getting wow to run under WINE, failed to ever get a logon screen...

wait... what? no the q6600 is a quad core processor. whether you use it on a 64bit or a 32bit operating system doesnt matter in terms of compatibility.
