brainie pala 80 - blastcast shaman 80 - deadcast shaman 80 - swientie holy priest 80 - magrin mage 80 -- Aggramar EU
gz suvega and vyndreecool runnings , hehe
I started my 5-box team about a week ago. It's the standard cheese - 1x paladin and 4x shamen (Draenei on Azuremyst).
Heres my list of instances thus far:
Deadmines(19p/21s): tried at level 18 with 4 shamen.. got owned by the first boss and decided i needed a paladin - so i leveled one. By the time i got there again, my paladin was 19 and the shamen were 21 so it was quite easy at that time.. no deaths to speak of and the VC went down quickly.. his adds after that.
Blackfathom Deep(23p/24s): This, too, was easy. There was one wipe, however, that occured with the ring event with the two water elementals. They put out a lot of spike damage i was prepared for - that and the AE's killed me. After that first wipe, though, i was prepared and cleared it twice after that with no problems.
Shadowfang Keep (25p/26s): This was trivial at the level - most things were green to the shamen. Needless to say, this was a breeze. Way too easy.
Stockades(26p/26s): I tried stockades right after Deadmines when i was 20/21 or so and found that although it wasn't hard when you only pull three or so, they quickly add and you wipe - i think them all being orange had something to do with it. At 26, though, it was way too easy - not a challenge at all.
Gnomeregan(26p/27s-28p/28s): Finally a challenge.. Wiped three times in all but was fun and rewarding. First wipe was just with the troggs and was stupidity on my part. Second and third wipe occured when i got too many dwarves and those damn magic nullifiers really screwed me when there's more than one. All the bosses, though, were a cake walk. For the last guy, i didnt stop the bombs at all.. i just let them hit my paladin and heal the damage.
Razorfen Kraul(28p/29s): Too easy at this level and not rewarding - i do not recommend this one for alliance.
Strat is always the same: paladin out front tanking and shamen throwing lightning bolts and 1-4x lessor healing waves when need which is almost never with healing stream totems.
I'll keep this up-to-date with more instances.. i think.
Update:
Scarlet Monastery Library(33): wiped like four times because i tried to rush through it.. cleared it three times to gear my shamen in more caster gear.
Scarlet Monastery Armory(35): Easy clear without a wipe.
Scarlet Monastery Cathedral(38 ): Cleared this three times (without any luck with the shield) and only wiped when i tried to pull the boss without clearing the church.
Uldaman(38-39): Cleared this one easily. Wiped once when i accidentally pulled two groups of troggs. The other thing that was hard was positioning my shamen after using them to open the door/waken the boss dude.
I know that it's not in the same league as everyone else but my 5xshammy crew cleared RFC lol.I started them in there about 14.5 and after grabbing all the quests and a few runs they are now 16.5
It was great experience learning how to use the totems effectively and positioning them for melee. With melee I kept having issues with them following the main while the main was attacking so a lot of the time they were out of range, so now I pick my target, press strafe so they no longer follow and backup the main so they're all together then totems and pull. I found 5xbolt and 5xblast enough to take 50-70% health off the mob and then just 5xmelee them down. All shammies now have 70ish mace skill, when we entered it was 5 i think lol. Once I got the pull tactics working properly it was cake and was able to take on 4 mobs at once (with timely heals).
The best thing of all? In 2 levels I only got 1xWTF?? outside the entrance. Nice.
edit: after reading Vyndree's post below - ai carumba! I have a long way to go lol - well done Vyndree - any fraps?

Curator had some trash that evade bugged against a wall. All sorts of weird things started happening. Astral sparks would fall through the floor, the mob would de-evade in the middle of the fight, sparks would come out at an uber-fast rate... We'll try again after a reset, or once the GM responds to my ticket.

Wow, I am truly impressed. This is absolutely amazing. I hope Curator gets sorted out, he shouldn't be too hard. Aran will be the true test I imagine.Originally Posted by Vyndree',index.php?page=Thread&postID=32992#post32 992]

We're not expecting a huge fuss with Aran. It's a learning fight for sure and a dps check, but with 5 shaman and 4 mages we've got plenty of interrupts and grounding totems. Dodging the blizzard will probably be the hardest part.Originally Posted by 'thinus',index.php?page=Thread&postID=32995#post32 995
Our total group makeup is such:
Vyndree: 1 resto shammy, 1 holy priest, 4 ele shammies, 1 prot pally
Suvega: 1 holy priest, 1 prot warrior, 4 fire mages

I was thinking of the the Blizzard and the arcane explosion where he pulls everyone in and does the slow.
EDIT: Pretty curious to see the Moroes fight and how you handled the adds.

With the arcane explosion, you can dispell the slow and a quick follow macro should work just fine.Originally Posted by 'thinus',index.php?page=Thread&postID=32998#post32 998
As for blizzard, we'll see how well we can kite that. Aran is rough on healing.
The general Moroes strat was such:
Paladin healer (Vyndree's): Velani, resto shammy (Vyndree's)
Warrior healer (Suvega's): Suvega, holy priest (Suvega's)
DPS: 3x ele shammies (Vyndree's) / 3x fire mages (Suvega's)
Warrior pulls. Paladin taunts off the warrior (Moroes is untauntable) while the priest shackles the mob that cleaves (the paladin can exorcism before the shackle to keep the mob's aggro off the priest). Once the 3 mobs are far enough away from the shackle, the paladin consecrates and aoe tanks the 3 while the dps unloads on the healer/dispeller mob. Earth shock the healer/dispeller's heals. When she's down, move on to the two other adds. Paladin should be exorcism'ing Moroes to remain 2nd on aggro since the Warrior's healer (priest) will be fighting against you. Typically the warrior should tank Moroes next to the paladin in order for consecrate to hit Moroes. Keep as many poison cleanse totems up as you can - the paladin will likely not be able to remove poison because they'll constantly be in the GCD keeping consecrate/holy shield/exorcism'ing moroes. After the last two mobs are down, the Paladin will holy shield + exorcism the last add (who cleaves) and start fighting for aggro with Moroes. This is where the dps starts to hit Moroes. Whenever Moroes vanishes, they will attack the mob that cleaves. There's a good reason to keep it alive - a paladin can't generate threat without mana, and can't get mana without heals. The last mob doesn't hit that hard on plate and even though you'll probably be downing mana pots, you need all the mana you can get to compete with the holy priest's aggro from healing the warrior all fight. Ideally the two healers could switch mid-fight so that neither one is insanely high on Moroes's threat list, but it's hard to coordinate. Alternately, the pally can BoSac the warrior to get mana via heals or to knock themselves out of a gouge if they're MT'ing Moroes. Anyway, during the vanishes, if it hits the paladin and the paladin is not tanking anything, they can bubble and immediately remove the bubble to get rid of the bleed. The paladin can also BoP one of the shaman if they get garotte, but this is once every 2 min so it's typically saved until late in the fight. The mages can iceblock out of the garotte and the priest can use stoneform (dwarf racial) to remove the bleed. The warrior and the remaining shaman just heal through it. Once it's down to just Moroes, watch the threat, and tank&spank him down with the two tanks fighting for aggro.
See? Simple.![]()

Key points to remember:
Be on top of your heals, but not on top of threat
Watch the shackle. It CAN break early and it WILL go straight for the priest. A timely exorcism before the shackle will help start the aggro off on the paladin.
Do not consecrate immediately after the pull. Otherwise you'll end up with aggro on the paladin -- from the adds AND moroes.
Watch where you consecrate and where the shackle is, or if the shackle is going to break where the mob is going.
Shaman wear mail. They don't hurt much from the garotte. However, they do hurt quite a bit from being OOM thanks to spamming chain heal.
The warrior needs to focus on keeping shield block up. Untimely crushes are BAD. Especially with the holy priest riding the paladin's ass on the threat list.
The first add (the healer) should NEVER be allowed to heal. Earth shocking heal > burst damage.
Tank the cleaving mob AWAY from your party
Never let a mob hit you in the back. You can't block them when they're behind you.
Poison cleansing totem. Stack that b*tch. If it hits a healer, lay another poison cleanse totem.
Grounding totem up at the pull. It'll eat holy fires/judgements from two of the adds.

Uldaman - 40 - 0
ZF - 45 (didn't have hammer at this point) - 1
Maraudon - 47 - A million, because I couldn't figure out how to kill Princess with her Nature ImmunityBut I got her eventually.
ST - 50 - 1 vs Shade of Eranikus, apparently I missed a single group of Dragonkin before pulling him
BRD - 53 - 1 I ran this MANY times to finish ALL quests, even killing the Emperor.
LBRS - 57 - 3
UBRS - 59 - 6. I got a friend to help with the Rend Event. The resists of the Chromatic Dragonkin were too mana consuming to kill with an all-nature DPS team. I was OOM by the last wave, and couldn't even make it to Rend by myself.
Now my shaman are sitting at 60 because I forgot that I didn't buy them TBC expansions when I first started playing! I cheaped out. I have a new team of Warrior, 3x Mage, Priest for a try at CC + DPS + dedicated healer.
