    Default Help with dual boxing

    Hello,

    I have a HP Pavilion dv9700 Notebook PC with an external monitor plugged into it, and would like to be able to dual box Everquest viewing each account on separate displays. Will my laptop do it and if so how do i set it up with the dual monitors to allow maximum performance for both gaming instances?

    Here are the specs on my laptop:

    Platform = Windows Vista 32 bit Processor = Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5450 @ 1.66 HZ 1.67 GHz Memory = 3.00 GB Display card = Nividia GeForce 8600M GS Approx. Total Disp. Memory = 1776 MB Second Monitor = 19" LCD

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    In Nvidia Control Panel there should be a Wizard on how to set up dual-monitors. If it even works on a laptop.

    I have been able to hook up the second monitor and by running WinEQ I'm able to drag an instance to each monitor and seems to be no lag. (I tested it in pok and watched folks running by and I casted some spells onto the second box and I noticed no lag what so ever and everyone running around was in real time on both screens.)

    My computer was running between 70-84% capacity according to the task monitor, although it never went above 84% it stayed neared to that more than the lower end spectrum. EQ supposedly loads up on separate cores now automatically but Im not sure how to verify this on my machine because I am not computer savvy at all.

    Here is my new issue now, when I try to switch between instances via the hot keys pre set up by WinEq, or via mousing over to the instances and clicking on them; It takes anywhere from 30-50 secs before it completes. This whole time both instances are locked up and in limbo till one comes to the front in focus. I can play fine on whichever one is in focus and and the other one shows real time in-game activity with no lag, vice versa on the other one when I switch; just takes me forever to switch between them which is unacceptable to box with.

    Anyone have any idea how to fix this or why its happening?
