And that's wrong - any DPS should be theoretically within a few % of each other (I think the number given by Blizz was 5%, can't find the exact post). So a Rogue, Enhancement or Elemental Shaman, or a Retribution Paladin should all be within 5% of each other on paper.

I recall seeing a post by GC a couple weeks ago in which she advised Rets to keep it cool, telling them the devs were pretty happy with where they stood and wouldn't be changing much, if anything. I sincerely hope that isn't the case but we'll have to wait and see.

Why should the dps for a class that can heal and tank be the same as a class wearing cloth and no healing ability? That makes no sense at all and would cause a large imbalance in PVP and PVE both. Rogues are already weak unless all you want to do is gank and I'm still of the belief enh should only be used for solo leveling. Pallies are going to be tough but they will still see a nerf or three before wotlk goes live.

I dunno. It's just what Blizzard has decided.

Indeed. This has been clearly stated as a change in direction by Blizz. To quote Blizz poster Ghostcrawler:

"To be clear, this is a change in design for us. We used to say that hybrids and classes that brought big buffs had to ride in the back of the dps bus. We're trying something different this time around, where everyone brings buffs and everyone has the potential to do dps. "

Wow, if the dps ability of the Paladin stays as it is through release, I think a lot will leave the game. I will stay, but I've heard in the beta that a lot are going to leave. Maybe their just talking or maybe not. But the way it is now, the paladin's dps capability in the Wrath of the Lich King is above all other classes. It's way above 5% over any cloth wearing classes.

Blizzard has clearly said, over and over, thet they're not done with all of the classes and haven't done a numbers pass yet. Making a decision now about whether to stay or not is just foolish. And besides, the only alternative is Warhammer and quite frankly, Warhammer isn't all that great compared to Warcraft.
