Default Am I just bad at math? RAF boosting not granting as much as I expected...

    I have a correct setup:

    1 account unlinked to anything

1 veteran account linked to a second accound (RAF)

I am trying to boost two warlocks in SM Cath - 70 hunter - both RAFs are now 21.

Kills on Scarlet Chaplan gain each of them 231 (+154 exp RAF bonus, +11 group bonus)

the only really good experience kills were the bosses:

High Inquistitor Whitemane dies: you gain 600 experience (+400 exp refer a friend bonus +27 group bonus)
same for Commander Mograine - 600.

    Shouldn't I be pulling a lot more than 231exp on 37-39 elites at 21?

    Thanks in advance -

    -Daniel

No I'm pretty sure thats right. The trick to instance boosting with RAF is to pull half or the entire instance all at the same time to basically run the entire instance in 10-15 minutes. Its not the individual kills that give good XP. Prot paladin is the best way to go, or AoEing class. Other than that its probably still faster then questing but not by much.
    <Multiplicity>
Blood Elf Death Knight, 4 Orc Shaman - Burning Legion Horde US (PvP)
    Ellianaa - Haachoo - Hachu - Hachuu - Hahchoo

Heroics down: Gundrak, Drak'Tharon, Utgarde Keep, Utgarde Pinnacle, Culling of Stratholme, Halls of Lightning, Ahn'Kahet, Violet Hold, Nexus, Azjol-Nerub, Halls of Stone

afaik you get less xp if your that much bellow the mobs, you probably will find it going up as you get closer to them in level

if the mobs are red to your lowbies then there ius a cap at what the maximum xp you can earn is. When you get them to turn orange that's when you gonna see big xp numbers. At level 36 i think it was i was getting 300- 400 xp on kills with one 70 boosting and about 200- 300 with 2 - 70's boosting.

Yeah, that's correct. Your XP per kill will increase incrementally as you level up, it will then peak and begin slowly falling again. You should be netting a level per clear of SM Cath (roughly) And that will continue as you level higher, to almost 2 levels per clear. At 40, move on to BRD, 50 to Scholomance or Strath up to 60. (I did Scholo for the Runes for my Palis Mount, and for all of those nice caster drops to replace the level 1 gear my Mages were still wearing).

Yep - Bingo. I am getting better numbers as i get closer. It doesn't really follow the XP logic from the DB wiki --.

I only have a single 70 char - a hunter with 95% green gear - and I am doing SM Cath in 8 pulls. Eyes of the beast - run the circuit - kill everything - mana biscuit - next. About 40 mins per level here. I haven't done any instances before this - so it has been a learning experience... LOL.

Thanks so much for this site guys (and gals).

As an aside, has anyone else found "Grant a Level" to be slightly bugged. this is what happened. I have played quite a few groups up to 60 now. So i had multiple toons with several levels to give. So i decided to boost up a warrior alt i don't really play, just to use up everything i had.

I used one toon that i played up to level 16, then boosted to 60 to be the grant-er. That should be 7 levels to grant, right. well, that toon took my warrior from 46 to 60. Somehow, he had 14 levels to give. Unless i missed a rule about how this is calculated. I'm not complaining, but it seems something isn't right. I mean, you don't accumulate anything for levels that were granted to you right.

Unless I am missing something in your post, by getting that grant-er to 60 you effectively have 29 levels to gift not 7. You get 1 level to gift for every 2 the recruit toon earns.

A level is a level. Whether it was gifted or earned thru mob/quest xp. So if you have your accounts chained (AtoBtoCtoD etc) then when you gift from D to C then half the levels gifted to C can then be gifted again to B and so on.

Actually, if you gift levels to a character, they can gift levels to another character. But the inital Veteran/Friend rules apply. So, like say I have a 4 man team. One is the Veteran, one is linked to it. And the last two are linked to the previous. You level all 4 to 60, now you have 4 60s. Characters on account C and D grant a character on account B levels to 60. Now Account B has 2 Characters at 60, you grant a character on the veteran account levels up to 30 from one character on Account B, then another 30 with the other 60. So, you end up with 6 60s in this case.

If you kill something close to your level, you get more xp then if you kill something higher or lower then your level. You only get 200 xp per kill in SM at level 20, while you get 450 near level 40.
