Default A MultiBoxer's Tale... (A Choose Your Own Adventure)

Once upon a time, there was a Sindorei mage, named Mythgraven, on the desolate rock Rexxar.

He was a solo, 70th level mage, who had the idea that it would be funner, effectiver, and interestinger to roll 2 toons at once.

He completed some tests with it, and found that it was too distracting to click between 2 windowed mode WoW instances.

So he went to the Tubes, and researched it some more. He upgraded and enchanted his hardware with +NVIDIA chants, and learned about KeyClone.

"Ah hah!" said he. "This is just what I need!".

So the mage tried many different combos. He tried 5 hunters, and 5 locks. 5 shaman, and a mix of many. Being primairly of the Horde persuasion, he mostly rolled those races, but dabbled slightly on the Alliance. (He had no money there, and got kinda bored.)

But after a time, the mage felt lonely. He realized that no one else on Rexxar seemed to know, or care about multiboxers. (If they did, they were -hiding-!) So where could he go, for advice? Where could he go, to find other people, who could give strats, or just bullshit with? He knew they had to exist! (And the ight had begun to gleam, that there could be such things as whole guilds devoted to it... 5 friends, with 5 toons each, who owned as much ass as the mightest Blizzard backed progression guild!)

So Mythgraven jumped back into the Tubes, and via a combo of forum posts, and good solid info, found his way to www.dual-boxing.com. Like a basket of sweet, blessed mana-biscuits, it seemed like a treasure trove of information, and like-minded souls. Mythgraven's eyes lit up, and he EVEN heard that there was a whole guild on Magtheridon, who boxed! Could it be???

So Mythgraven stood on the tallest mountain, you might know the one. Well, perhaps it was a small shoebox. A gnomes shoebox.

And he called out, and asked... "Where are the multiboxers? Are they on Mag? Is there anyone who knows a guild, or wants to form one? I know my way around some macro's, and Im a drama free, fair minded, mostly competent player, seeking other multiboxers to play with."

To flame the crap out of this girly post, turn to Page 4!

To give a helpful, well thought out, serious responses, advising the novice (but not foolish) multiboxer on where people go in his shoes, turn to page 8! (And hit reply!)

If you're end game goals are to Raid, then my guild would be an option. Although I'm alliance.

Magtheridon has a lot of boxers, but as far as I know, they don't do much as a guild (The Zerg). If they do, they don't post about it.
For the record we are running Naxx / VoA pretty much every week, and will be stepping into Uld soon. However we are pretty casual, i.e. we don't have a fixed raiding schedule. We are looking for more people though, since a few 5-boxers have gone into retirement / semi-retirement.

    Cheers,

    S.

I rarely see any other multiboxers on my server as well. However, just recently I ran across two teams leveling up on Alliance side! So, we are not alone but it doesn't appear to be common. The turnover rate seems rather high too. People seem to get burned out or bored. Just go through the archives on this board and you will see many names that don't appear to be active any longer [maybe they still play, but you'd assume they go hand in hand].

So, I can't imagine there are any other multiboxer guilds out there besides the two mentioned.

I'm on Cenarius server, I have teams on both horde and alliance. I'm pretty causal though and just play to have fun. I wouldn't mind trying out naxx or something else sometime if you have any 80 teams.
