Default Multi Boxing with a twist

    Hello folks.

My brother and I are currently leveling a pair of frost mages for PvP reason (1 mage each - no multiboxing here).

We both have keyclone and both have multiboxing teams but we fancied a go at single characters to take advantage of all the movements i.e. blink frost 2x frost nova used effectively in PvP and the amazing improvement on manouverability for multiple characters.

My question is as follows: Is it legal for both characters to be controlled completely indivudually - but have keyclone linked on both PC's to send certain skills at the perfect time using "hot keys" (i.e. one of us gets a frost nova off and to make sure shatter is used to its full effect on both characters we shoot a frostbolt followed by an ice lance at exactly the same time using the "hot key", hopefully getting 4 crits in a row but keeping full control of only 1 character). This pretty much removes the multiboxing hinderance of movement but gives you the amazing co-ordination, which makes me think this might be a bit of a 'naughty' thing to do?

I just read this back and i seem really bad at explaining things, but i hope you get the picture.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks a lot!

well if ure gonna be playing next to each other won't it be easier to just get used when to use certain skills and/or call them out when u need them?

i just think you'd get in each other s way if you for example suddenly use his frost nova when he wanted to wait another 1 sec..

I wasnt thinking of having all our keys mapped, just 1 certain button each which forces to other to cast frostbolt followed by ice lance in the situation where someone is frozen to the ground, i.e. a frost nova. therefore making use of the 50% critical increase on both characters 2xfrostbolt 2xicelance would be quite nice if they all crit.

ye but if u play enough u'll get used to doing that together

I just think that it would hinder you more than help you if you re not in control of your frostbolts, ice lances etc..

Not sure if its legal cos u re kind of sharing an account which isn't yours by being able to control some of his spells - its a bit weird

Again, I recommend playing together u'll get used to synchronising attacks after 40-50 2v2s

If your accounts aren't in the same name, you'll probably get banned doing this.
And if they are in the same name and both of you are playing them normally..you'll probably get banned for sharing. :P

I dont see how's it's any different, one button push = one action.

The only problem I see is that the TOS and EULA have statements in there about other people playing your account. You're button pushing for your brother's account.

I think it would be easier to just call out for the shatter combo. what happens if your bro is moving when you hit your button? he moves and breaks cast... you guys can do it with out. Now i would use your keyclone to help each other level and do BG's and things but for arena, just play your own guy IMO.

What will you do if your brother's mage is on GCD and you want to do a combo? How about when he's not turned the right way, or he's running (when you want to cast a non-instant).

You'll need to communicate a lot to time it right. Perhaps more than just doing it the regular way.
Looking for Multibox Guild on EU servers, Horde side. If you're into PvP it's a definite plus!
