Default has anyone made your own gamepad?

I know there are professional solutions.... Such as xkeys, but what about making your own?
Using something like the I-Pac2 or I-Pac4 to make your own seems like a good idea... http://www.ultimarc.com/ipac1.html
Im considering ordering one to play around with... I think it'd be fun, as i always enjoyed modding and such. Any ideas/feedback?

That's seriously cool man, thanks for posting.

No I've never made my own keyboard/gamepad but always wanted to. Maybe this is a good opportunity to do so!

I built this awhile back. I haven't done much with it except for healing if I'm having a hard time with an encounter but it's kind of neat and dirt cheap to make.

A friend actually used an ipac on his arcade box awhile back. it was pretty easy to wire in some buttons and program them.

I'd say go for it, buy one make something neat and share it! I ordered one to fool around with, but my moding skills are sub-par at best.

Im sourcing all the parts I will need.... putting together a parts list and project outline. Im looking for some advice on which buttons to use. I want square illuminated buttons, with a clear bezel... so i can make custom layouts much like the xkeys... but i've been unable to source what i am looking for. I plan on making a fiberglass enclosure that i will custom paint. Egronomics will be a must, to me the xkey unit looks uncomfortable. I'd like to be able to rest my hand on this comfortably like my n-52. my biggest holdup is not being able to find the style of buttons that i want. With the community here, maybe someone has some idea of where to get buttons like i've described.

Again, an outline of what im lookin for.

    • Square pushbutton (no bigger than standard keyboard key)
    • Illuminated (not a biggie)
    • removable top as to be able to make custom button graphics
    • Tactile feel.

Sorry for short and simple sentances , im driving lol. no.... i do not wow while driving.... ok... maybe just a little hehe
