The leading char dies and the toons get unmovable

To make a dynamic assist-macro isnt a problem. The problem are the movement-keys.

I move my leader with asdw. On my toons i have instead of movement-bindings a macro on this asdw-keys with "/follow focus /assist focus".

Ok, i can use the arrowkeys for alternative-movement for my toons but then i cant reach the whole spell-keys.

I also tried to load for different situations different key-bindings via /script loadbinding(x);. But it dont work in combat.

Any ideas?

PS: i only use RF-Keyboard + 3 RF-Reciever

Don't know if Keyclone supports "on the fly" keymap changes, however if it does, that might be the way to do it.

You have a few options.

Foot pedals to "chord" the keys to send multiple control, alt combinations (you can now do left alt, and right alt as two separate modifier keys as shift and control too). So to chord the keys, combine left alt + wsad for example.

You could have a button to reassign focuses to the new character such that you can change focuses on the fly and it would not matter who you used as your "main". That same button could dynamically update keymaps, but you would likely need a UI mod to do so - or keyclone to support that. This would work best for 4 man shammys for example, when it does not matter who heals or who DPSes and you have all 4 screens visible. It of course could be used to swap out to a more expendable character to charge into arenas, etc.

You can have a dedicated Xkeys setup to control movement for your characters. The top row of a PRO is suitable for this for 4 characters. 8 or more if you combine with chording.

There are other options out there too but the change of focus seems to be one that is easy to implement and I suggest designing your initial macros with this in mind. It is a bit of a pain to change them later.

I use YGHJ for movement (been doin it since long before WASD became the standard), since I have alot of buttons surounding these buttons.

On my mouse I have a thumb button (actually have 2), and it's bound to Alt. So with YGHJ I move my main, and if I hold the thumb button pressed I move my clones with Alt+YGHJ. I find it very useful and easy.

- Sideways scrolling is strafing
- Thumbbuttons are autorun, move forward and move backward.
- Scrollwheel is used for targeting (next and previous enemy) This is VERY useful as soon as you get used to it.

This makes my entire left hand, and x-keys free for spells only

I recently changed my priest and four lock combo to a warrior (as my main) and two locks, a mage and my priest.

Here is what I did... I can only control three of them and I don't think it will work for you. But I like my setup and feel like sharing. HAHA

WASD = movement keys for the warrior.

Arrow keys = movement keys for the mage. The up arrow is also bound on the alts to /follow the mage.

Numpad 8456 = movement keys for the priest only.

This allows me to spread the follower out (thus taking them off follow) and charge in with the warrior. If it turns out I have placed them too far away from the mob (or the mob moves and I must chase) I can bring the followers in via the arrow keys. If things get really sticky and I might wipe I can get the priest to a safer location by use of the num pad. This way when he dies in an instance I can control WHERE he dies so he can use his soul stone in an area where he won't agro mobs and he can then rez the rest of the party.

I haven't actually tried this, but this is what I'm planning on doing before I start PVPing again. (I'm only level 36x3, so I switch off between leveling and PVP).

My current set up is 3 warlocks on one computer. Controlled through Keyclone and primarily using a Nostromo N52 Speedpad. The N52 has a "red shift" option that lets you shift between keymappings on the fly. (Three or four keymapping I think). So I'll just have each character have 2 assist/follow macros, plus a blank spot for when they're lead. So if Ryanone dies, I can hit Red Shift, go to Ryantwo's screen and just start playing the remaining two. And I could just leave it like that, or once he resses I could hit it twice (Once to go to Ryanthree main, and then back to Ryanone) and go back to Ryanone controlling.

This has some advantages and disadvantages, of course, but this is probably the method that will work the best for me. I have already managed to run the WSG across a field where all three of my characters died, but the next one managed to grab the flag before Alliance did. (I had the first character to die just autorun towards middle, and when he got in range I hit my /follow macro) But that was a lot of luck and alt tabbing so I could hit Autorun on some of them.
