Whats wrong with this elemental totem + petattack macro?

Ok so here is the macro:

/cast [nomod] Earth Elemental Totem
/cast [mod:ctrl] Fire Elemental Totem
/petattack [target=focustarget,mod:shift]

I have this bound to 6/7/8/9/0 (6 on main, 7 on toon 2, 8 on toon3, etc)

The casting part works just fine...but when I use shift+6 or whatnot, the elemental just stands there. Of course I have a focus and my focustarget is something I can attack (in this case it was durn and my elementals just wouldn't attack him until he attacked me, of course by then I was dead).

Please help!

Nm after reading further it looks like the pets can't be controlled at all? If so thats lame as hell. So I have to drop 5 totems, then run back 30 yds and wait for Durn to attack them, THEN I can start attacking? wow... thats going to suck balls with all the patrolling mobs around him.
