I got some abuse when I started but not had any for a long time now (lvl 48 and leveling very slowly), people have told me they are reporting me but have been quite polite about it . I have 4 macros set up to reply to the most basic questions. It may also help that I have a mixed group of gnomes and dwarves.

Set up some macros to reply to the basics. Try and be as polite as possible. If people continue being abusive you could macro

    /assist
/tell target reported reported for abuse
    /ignore target

on all five characters (not tested but you should be able to get something similar to work)

I am on EU Turalyon Alliance and there is at least one other multiboxer on the server.

    Default Thunderhorn/EU

    Hi,

I'm boxing on Thunderhorn/EU, and I must say, never had much complains about boxing.
People do notice, we are being watched from the skies in Outland by other players.
In Azaroth we did receive some comments, but not that much.
Toons are 67 now, and we do get some comments, but most are positive from the start.
The few comments we received that are negative, are easily turned positive by explaining what we do.

    So, Thunderhorn is cool!
2x Mage team: Zulrandar Zalrunder @80 Thunderhorn - EU
FiveBoxTeam: Pallarfo Paladin, Amandie Priest, Arisboch Hunter, Ludmilli & Ludmillo mages @80 Thunderhorn - EU
    QuadTeam: 4x Hunters @80 Thunderhorn - EU
    QuadTeam: 4x Warlock @70 Thunderhorn - EU
    QuadTeam: 4x Mages @70 Thunderhorn - EU
    QuadTeam: 4x DK @ 73 Thunderhorn - EU
    QuadTeam: 1x Mage, 3x Hunters @60 Talnivarr - EU

You get that crying everywhere. Just ignore it or get a laugh out of it for yourself, that makes the crying actually fun. Some people are just retarded, can't do much about it. Make a macro with: www.wowwiki.com/multiboxing and just say it to everyone who asks something.

I'm thinking about Transfer ingmy 4 shaman + feral druid to Al'akir. I'm at Aggramar atm, where there are a lot of other boxers, but pvp is dead here. Most good players transfered to Al'akir and are in <Greengill Coastguard>, so i think i'm gonna join them.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again. The amount of crap, abuse, arguements and general nasty ass bad feeling I ever encountered was running single box pugs. Since multi boxing 5 chars and hence soloing instances, abuse and negative comments have reduced by about 95%. Multiboxing ftw.

The people who give you a bad vibe Ive come to realise are basically jealous. They are so full of their own epeen when they see your 5 chars strolling along they are filled with jealousy.

Im on EU Khadgar and since the mid 40s I havent had a trace of abuse since. Some polite conversations from interested people thats it. The low-mid levels where the worst. maybe by the 60-70s people have got a bit more educated about the game and they say--oh theres one of them multiboxers--not theres a Bot --kill--report spaw--swear.

Try the other faction out... On my server, every time I play Horde, people spam nothing but hate and nonsense at me.

At the risk of offending someone here (but I think I won't because we seem to have a pretty mature community on DB.com), remember that most of these are just little jealous teenagers. They can't talk daddy into forking out more $ for multiple accounts or don't posess the mental capacity to do what we do. So, they fear and abuse things they don't know, call people names, engage in meaningless conversation (a la Barrens chat), and feel the urge to put someone else down every chance they get. They know that they they are protected because they can hide behind a computer where someone can't reach over and wring their necks.

I've said it in a different post where I fear for the nation's youth. They don't know how to express themselves without the use of vulgar profanity or offensive racial slurs, and speak in lazy internet/texting induced jibberish.

The question I usually ask myself is "Do I really care what someone who thinks like that thinks of me?" Answer is always "No."

However, you will find people who are cordially curious, and those people usually will make my friends list. I acknowledge their presence if I see them in areas I'm adventuring in, buff them if my class is a buff capable class and generally try to get along. I make no effort to appease the brash or abusive. I'll ignore them and most go away. If they do hamper my play, I play other characters or find something else to do for a little while.

I even have a few on friends list that I remember going around and killing all of my mobs in a newbie area. Knowing they're solo playing and I'm levelling with the assistance of RAF, I'll be staring down my exp bar at them soon. Pretty funny to fester that "haX0r" hate in them when I show up in their area.

If you can't take it, you do have choices:

You can re-roll on a new server, like Magtheridon horde side (knowing you can't transfer EU to US) - we normally have people playing 24-7 as we have members from all over the world. Most members are always friendly, and they do have the same experiences with Multiboxing and the community. We do protect our own should you get corpse camped (within a reasonable amount of time, of course) as I have seen 10+ characters open up on a couple of 70 corpse campers - quite a sight. We have a well-stocked 3-tab guild bank for new rolls. I've also seen some higher level people in gank-heavy areas actually avoid someone with The Zerg tagged over their head. Now's the time to do it if you RAF - I have 2 5x teams near 60, and a 3rd half way in with 57 days left, and I can't play every day. As you can see, I have had fun with the guys there. We don't do too many events right now (we're all RAF'n or doing other WotLK prep stuff) but I hope that comes with time.

You can transfer to a more multi-boxing friendly EU server (as someone posted, check the who and where thread). I would suggest re-rolling a demo team there first and talking to the people to see if your play times match up, you get along with the people there, don't have a serious latency problem, etc. before you spend the money to move multiple characters.

I'm on Elune and most of the comments I receive are from the sour-grapes types.

I usually just have all toons target the whiner and then /cry and maybe throw down twenty totems and make fun of him for having a crappy video card.

    Hey guys,

As many of you i ve been facing real idiot people atm on my server (Al akir/alliance EU), people who doesnt even know what is multi boxing, calling me bot and so on, its even ruinning my fun tbh, its my first dual boxing exp (with 5 acc.) and im thinking either rerolling somewhere else (green grass somewhere?) or moving my chars (currently all lvl 32).

Can i have your feedbacks for those playin on EU server (think its worst than US), what should i do, where should i go ?

    cheers dear community
It seems to be the nature of mamals to "kill" any member of their community that is in any way different, especially if that different is in any way superior. I suspect that is part of the motive for why the (mostly young) jerks act like that, even though they probably don't understand why themselves.

I'd suggest turning off all three of the global channels on all your characters, and turn off the "yell" from characters as well. That means they can "say" to you if they're close enough, or "whisper" to you, both of which are easy to mute. Mostly I ignore all tells, unless I'm resting in town for some reason, or I get asked a reasonable question. I get about 50% good comments (PVE server- US), but most of the insults are simply "Bot" or "Haxer" or some such, and they go on their way. These, of couse, I just ignore

Lately, i've been getting a fair amount of people wanting to join my group. When they find out that I've a full group, they usually go on their way, but at least twice in the last week, I've been asked for help anyway. I tell them to tag which ever mob they need, and I'll kill or tank it for them. Usually only take a couple of minutes, and its amazing the nice comments I get from that. More and more I'm getting requests for information of "how to do it". Rather than get bogged down in a really long conversation, I just give them the link to come here.

Find a way to have fun, it is after all entertainment.

I hear where you're coming from here, but be careful where you go with this idea. I work at a company with people ranging in age from 18-80, and the 40+ crowd is just as bad as anyone in terms of their grammar and communication skills. Not everyone is bad at it, but I don't find that using stupid abbreviations is necessarily any worse than a 40 year-old guy who thinks it's a good idea to type in all caps lock because he wants his text to be easy to read. It's just people in general tend towards being lazy with their writing. The problem is probably "texting" in and of itself, since it lends itself to keeping messages very short and using a lot of shorthand. Point of interest: they used to teach "speedwriting" in my high school to take better notes, which was essentially teaching people how to write stuff in idiotic gibberish shorthand. hah!

The real issue here is maturity level, and it's always going to be more likely that a minor will not be mature about things, regardless of their education level or anything else. But some adults are going to be really bad about it as well. I don't want to bully around teenagers just because of their ages! There are going to be many exceptions to your rule.

Snap, I've only ran into a couple people that called me hack or bot, but when I said, "hey, check out dual-boxing.com" and a few minutes later they were like, "woa, sweet sweet nectar". Everyone else just follows me around and watches me mow down mobs or cast a bunch of spells/ghostwolf.
