Default Losing steam... tell me its not going to be that bad

I enjoyed playing my Paly and 4 shaman and then the news of nerfs to Shaman came around and I lost my interest in that combo.

I picked up my original favorite again, the Shadow Priest, and figured they could only go up since they were pretty gimped in PvP since BC's release. But I made the mistake of looking over all the changes for WotLK and I see nerfs all over the shadow tree and i've lost my steam with my quint priest group at lvl 40. Someone please help me shake this funk!

I'm seriously considering playing Warhammer now and only 1.5 months into my RAF

I agree some things seem like nerfs but have you played beta or copied to the current 3.0 ptr? When the new patch goes live all my shaman are going to be doing a bunch more damage from talents alone. Things will be different no doubt and everything will have to be tweaked before and after Wrath comes out but look forward to Wrath, Northrend is an amazing place to explore from what I've seen so far and I'm sure I'll have fun regardless of what's different.

I agree with Xar. Some things may appear to be nerfs but dont let that be a reason to stop playing a particular class. There will no doubt be some tweaking done once WOTLK is released to help better balance the classes. Just hang in there and enjoy yourself.

    My advice is:

Stick with the Shaman. So far, they haven't done anything to Grounding and Tremor totems, which are the two most important single abilities you get as a multiboxer of Shaman. They also removed the 4 seconds of horror from Psychic scream, which was going to be a serious deal breaker for Arena Shaman MB'ers.

Yes, only one Bloodlust sucks. Other than that though, we're going to see a total DPS increase as Blizzard has said they want all of the classes to be right next to each other in the damage charts.

You still have a month and a half left on RAF so go make a team of each class. You will be for sure ready for Lich changes!

One of the things you have to accept about multiboxing is that you are always going to be missing out on certain micromanagement which would result in more DPS in most cases, so being okay with a certain level of inefficiency is important. However, I don't feel that the damage buffs shaman are getting will make up for the stacking nerfs because I'm always going to be bothered that a different class could be giving out 3 new buffs and debuffs that the shaman can't. That's why I quickly moved on to a totally mixed caster team. I'm now getting fort, mark, int, kings and thorns, a future COE effect from the druid and a 1 minute AOE dmg buff from the mage, crit chance increase from scorch, etc. However, I won't have 4 grounding totems to nullify casters, and tremors won't be quite as good with just 1. In any case, if you have 1.5 months of RAF, level up more classes if it bothers you. There's no rush. You have years of WOTLK to play with.

    Thanks everyone for the feedback

Actually, the nerfs to Priests have me more bummed out then to Shaman. Shaman are sweet and I have enjoyed them but I like the play-style of SP's more. I guess it just seems like WotLK is resulting in major changes to overall game mechanics like no more using lower rank spells etc.

I get tired with the laws of "physics" changing too often and too dramatically.

I can't see that shadow priests will be nerfed in the final product that's released. I'm not saying that they would offer any big benefits to a shaman team, but I just can't imagine that they'd be nerfed and left that way on purpose. The design philosophy of the game is to make all specs equal in terms of usefulness, so a good reason not to bring a priest would only be that you don't really need a mana battery or vampiric embrace or whatever else they offer. I can't imagine that their DPS will actually go down relative to where they are now.

ok not really. Just know that every class/spec will be at least minimally playable, and with controlling more at once, you'll do just fine. When shaman sucked, I played a Enhance shaman. When Moonkins lacked boom, I leveled as one. What everyone thinks will happen, won't happen. Instead, there will be something else to come along and be OP as hell.

I run the same class configuration as you and honestly i'm not conerned the least bit. Everyone will always pick out the bad things with any change. Look for example Resilence everyone said lolwtf. Now that's the only state people want.

Fursphere made a post somewhere in general talking about some of the postive things, many who are in beta have shared some of the other things that look good. I'm looking foward to the changes myself, sure theres a few there I don't like but class changes are a give/take type of thing. Way to soon to jump ship yet. Honestly having the pally gives us the edge in the PVE world and those changes don't effect us as much. I think you'll come to find the changes are a good thing.

Right now i'm running 5 shamans just for rep. I ended up buying 700G worth of rep items to push along the shaman that has the pally account on it. As soon as it dings honored I'll promply switch back to the Pally, Mech, and Bot is really hard when you just hit 70 with crap gear. That pally makes a world of diffrence!

Due to Blizzards position on Hong Kong, money > freedom. I stopped playing.
