When I first started this game (right after release) I already had the software fraps, I begun playing with fraps in FFXI, but never made any movies. After I started killing players I thought, hey I could make a movie! Others had the same idea as well.
Not long after Warcraft movies came out. It was my goal from day one to reach the “Featured Movie” spot. With single boxing videos I came close once with my Troll rogue video which was like three years ago.
I’ve released many movies before and after that video, actually the count on wow videos is 24 on my site. I really worked hard refining my editing skills, and from a lot of failures and bad ratings I learned what it is people truly do and do not want to see.
When I started becoming really good at editing I came out with a duo video (A druid and pally) my friend and I took on all sorts of things, skull levels, a few 4 vs. 2, also those 4 vs. 2s we were green con they were almost skull. The level differences in that video was amazing and what we did. That video is one I can look back on and say I miss my friend and those were some of the best times I’ve had in this game. But back to the point that video didn’t receive a single rating. Mainly because it was low level PVP and no one want’s to see that.
When I started boxing I put for the same amount of effort and implemented some of the new things I’ve picked up from reading. I put that video out, and to my surprise for the first time since release and 20 movies later my video was featured in the Featured movie section. Didn’t make the number one spot but I was on the top of the page above the rest of the videos.
That really moved me and impacted me in a positive way, after trying so hard and long I finally made some real progress. I made my next boxing video which also made It in to the same section.
I’m so close so for this video I knew I had to pull out all the stops. I started working on this video before I resumed boxing. I spent a good two weeks just working on the intro. This video had to perfect! From start to finish it was 2 months in the making, collecting content and working on it.
I was so happy to finally be done and submit it. I’ve been crossing my fingers checking warcraftmovies more often then I should because that’s just how important it was to me. I had to make it, this time is it!
Before the new “cool” factor of boxing and a little above average videoing editing made the videos unique in their own way which provoked a lot of interest, hence the ratings. Today however with all the Multi-boxer haters a video like this will never see the top nor any video of its kind today. Perhaps scoring #1 in something like arena or what not will make it there for the pure pwnage factor interest.
I can’t say I won’t make another video; I’ll still make stuff for you guys since you like it. But one thing’s for sure I have to let go of warcraftmovies and my dreams with achieving that. After 4 long years and 24 videos it’s time to toss in the towel lol. I laugh but yeah, I can’t say I’m not depressed about it.
