Default My feedback on 3.0.2 - Farewell

So yeah, I played a bit on 3.0.2 PTR and I was very dissapointed. I will be quitting wow at least till expansion to play warhammer (which I preordered a few months back).

Please remember that the below review is only biased on multiboxing and on shaman changes in general.

Let me start off by saying it's an awesome patch, there is tons of new stuff for everyone to keep playing for a few good months. Hunters can tame any pet now and almost everyone has something really cool now.

Shamans in general got a ton of awesome spells but not so much for us elemental shamans

- The only cool spell we get is Thunderstorm which is only used for damage, forget the knockback
- Pretty much if you spec 60+ into ele, you are looking at +400-500 spell dmg and +5% spell crit bonus compared to what you have right now. Yes it means more damage but I already instagib people, i don't need more damage
- Survivability is out of the question, with all of the new skills and talents classes got you are looking at 30-40% less surivavability as ele (Please remember I only have 180 resil)
- Fully buffed I was sitting @ 1200 spell damage (That was really fun, 3000 damage Thunderstorms x 4 were fun)
- Blood lust now has a debuff which means you can't cast more than 1 every 3 min
- Chain heal has a cool new animation
- Chain lightning has a cool new animation
- Healing and Mana streams pulse like mana tide now
- No downranking on spells anymore (no chain heal shows ;()
- BGs were not working at the time I wrote this feedback

This patch really made my decision of switching to war for a while

It was a lot of fun talking with everyone here, you guys are super helpful, keep up the good work!

The thing is, this is meant to be a defensive spell as well as a offensive spell, as Elemental Shamans had little means of getting a melee'er off them.

They gave you more spell damage so they could tone down the spells as they are planning on giving you more to work with.

- Survivability is out of the question, with all of the new skills and talents classes got you are looking at 30-40% less surivavability as ele (Please remember I only have 180 resil)
Well, it was expected as Elemental Shamans may as well be mages in plate with the amount of armor you have with a shield on.

- Fully buffed I was sitting @ 1200 spell damage (That was really fun, 3000 damage Thunderstorms x 4 were fun)
And you're complaining about this?

- Blood lust now has a debuff which means you can't cast more than 1 every 3 min
Paladins can't shield themselves more than once every 1 minute. Mages couldn't Iceblock more than once every 30 seconds. These two abilities had people screaming "OP!!!" when the Forbearance/Hypothermia debuffs weren't around. I think it's reasonable to put a debuff for Bloodlust/Heroism, as people do call "OP" on that.

- Chain heal has a cool new animation
- Chain lightning has a cool new animation
They did say they were changing all the "Chain" looking spells (Drain Life/Mana/Soul, Mind Flay, Chain Lightning/Heal.)

- Healing and Mana streams pulse like mana tide now
Blessing of Protection was changed to make it look VERY obvious. Some of the other hybrids should have to suffer as well.

- No downranking on spells anymore (no chain heal shows ;()
They did that to all the classes.

- BGs were not working at the time I wrote this feedback
They're known for that on the PTRs

Change is inevitable in a MMO. FFXI, Everquest, Eve, all them have had changes in there that people do and don't like. You can't have Bloodlust going off one after the other, so what? Something like that was bound to happen. All I can say is suck it up and quit whining. Other classes have had plenty of retarded changes made to them. It's called "Balancing."

Oh and as for you going to Warhammer Online, I'll see you back in WoW in a couple weeks, considering only HALF the game is getting released.

- Pretty much if you spec 60+ into ele, you are looking at +400-500 spell dmg and +5% spell crit bonus compared to what you have right now. Yes it means more damage but I already instagib people, i don't need more damage

Is thunderstorm staying a 6y range knockback? When it was reduced to 5yards there was a blue post saying that this change was not intended. Hopefully they'll increase it a bit more.

If you're not happy and those are your opinions, then best of luck to ya in Warhammer. It's all about having fun. As for the weirdo fanboy reply that guy gave you, ignore it. Seems he has no effing clue what an opinion or an opinionated review is and he's going to flame you and QQ his heart out until you agree with his point of views.

Don't be a stranger to these here parts.

9-10-08
Thunderstorm: Damage slightly reduced. Now knocks back 6 yards (up from 5). New ranks added. Rank 2 at level 70: deals 1074 to 1226 Nature damage. Rank 3 at level 75: deals 1226 to 1400 Nature damage. Rank 4 at level 80: deals 1450 to 1656 Nature damage.

Totem of Wrath (Rank 4): Now increases the damage done by spells and effects by 280
Does not stack.

Thunderstorm is "fixed" internally, back at 20 yards.

The vertical portion of the knockback was toned down. The yardage discrepancy on the tooltip was from miscommunication.

Contradiction meter overload!

What was your spell damage before the patch? So I am sitting at 1056 spell damage right now. Should I expect to be getting 1500-1600 spell damage?

Thunderstorm is gonna be the shiz if you use it on roundrobin for taking out bosses. Cheap way to tank a boss, no?
