Ok here's my thoughts.

I wish this text window wasn't so stupidly small. It's like 1/20'th of my monitor.

MY setup - 2/1(main)/2. I mouse from window to window as neccesary with MultiBox. All keys should reach the active WoW, and a filtered set reach the other 4. Basically I use shift keys for 'this toon only' and normal and control modified for all toons, but I digress.

I have 3 options, to blacklist shift/movement keys, to whitelist common keys, or to use hotstrings. Currently I find that 2 of these options are not viable and 1 is buggy. This stuff has to be perfect IMHO, my main problem is that my alts, who are on follow, will spontaneously run whilst I'm just maneuvering my main. Usually this occurs to just one out of 4. Movement keys are not being broadcast, I have blacklisted them, so I need to first identify that thats my mage about to tank Shirraz, flick my mouse across, do the unintuitive thing of pressing the up key to unstick the key, by the time I have done this, my mage is already tanking Shirraz and his mana shield is down!. You can guess the outcome (i hate this fight with a passion). To try get around this I would blacklist shift/ctrl modified movement keys as well but all is not well, unfortunately.

I do believe WoW has a keysticking issue of its own, because sometimes my main will have particular movement keys locked which I need to alt tab to resolve which is just wierd, but ignore this. The case where my alts are being locked into running forward does not 'exhibit the same symptoms'.

So last night I am tired of this and I check out white listing again - it seems to work with modified keys on a single machine, but across the network, ctrl/alt modified keys simply do not work. I put CTRL+1 on the whitelist for 2 different machines and it will reach clients on the same machine but not the second machine.

So the third option is hotstrings. Conceptially, I like this. If a hotstring is mapped to a modified key, and I release the key NOT the modifier, keyclone will release the modifier as well on non active instances. But there is also a major problem: If I press CTRL + TAB and this is mapped to a hotstring, with 2 instances flagged with 'pass only hotstrings' and I release CTRL before TAB, CTRL is left stuck down on the non active instance. Thats a show stopper because I can't just hit CTRL to unstick across all instances I'll have to hit another extended key combo releasing in the opposite order, by the time I resolve all this on a boss fight I've probably wiped. It is cumbersome to use keymaps in this way - for my 5 instances of WoW I need to set the keymap on each one, and I also need to check 'pass only hotstrings' to achieve the whitelisting that I want. Default keymap and default option for 'pass only hotstrings' would be cool. Additionally with hotstrings - ALT modified hotstrings do not function - ALT is not passed to any window but the active one. And lastly in this mode (pass only hotstrings), keyclone doesn't respond to the override key.

The last minor issue is their is some key doubling. Don't ask me when or why, but in the active window where there is 2 instances on one machine... sometimes not always any non blacklisted key will be repeated.

There is lots of issues there 8)
