Default Free multiplexers?? I looked everywhere--I swear.

    I thought I'd like to multibox mine and my husband's toon while the other can't be there to lvl up together. I know ppl who do it and I'm pretty sure I can if I can just find a program (free or not too expensive) to multiplex. Please don't suggest keyclone--already been there. If that's the cheapest they run, fine. But I know my friend got a free one and wouldn't you know it? He's not been on lately. Please help!

    This will get you banned. Accounts can only be shared between one person and one of his/her minor children. Multiboxing tends to get reported from people that don't understand and when Blizz checks into it they will see the account sharing and swiftly ban both accounts. I would highly advise against this.

    To clarify this a bit:

    It's OK to multibox -- but people don't know that, and as a multiboxer you'll probably get some (if not ALOT of) attention. People who don't understand that it's OK, they will report you (and they should if they think you're a bot or something... Blizz will investigate, see that you're not botting, and nothing will happen).

    Now, when Blizz receives a player report, many things get checked -- including account names. If the account names do not match, that's pretty much an insta-ban for account sharing.

    Just clarifying:
    Multiboxing = OK
    Account sharing = NOT OK

    Getting away with it: NOT LIKELY

    What if you made accounts under a different first name but same last name? do they only check last name like when doing character transfers?

    My first name is Abdalla which is what I used on my main account but my alts are under first name Ab which is what everyone calls me....dang now I'm worried :S

    I kind of have the same issue: How to Change Account Names

    I've never fixed this issue and have had no problems though you should do what makes you feel comfortable. I personally worry it will show up but at the same time any commen sense on the person investigating my accounts would negate this. However, the rules are the rules and they could do what those rules call for and then I would have to go through the trouble of fixing it. But I'll cross that bridge when it gets here.

    It's up to the GM. I know they've confirmed that if your name is "Robert" and you put "Rob" as your first name on the other account, there's usually no worry. However, if your first name was "Robert" and the other account's first name was "Susan" -- even if your last names matched, the GM isn't stupid.

    Hmm, the site you sent me wasn't the one I looked at. http://www.wowwiki.com/Multiboxing. Didn't mean to annoy.

I thought you just had to have 2 accounts. I own both. Now I'm really confused and I'll take it out of here. I'll go ask someone from Blizzard. Thx anyway.
