    Default New PC

I plan on getting a new computer and moving up from Dual boxing to Quad and I just wanted to know what'd be a good computer.

The budget i have is around 1000 USD and I heard somethings about this computer (http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668103.php) Which would leave me with around 400 to spend on whatever.... But I just want a good bit of FPS on all of the Slaves and Main without going over xD (also I'm not a good computer hardware person so I would apperciate someone to help me a good machine) Thanks

Run a few searches on here (suggest you use google's "site:dual-boxing.com" syntax) as we've had at least a thread a week for the last few months on that exact topic.

    Quad core
    8gig ram for Vista 64
    7200rpm HD
    Multiple LCD monitors
1 or 2 video cards ati 3870 or above, nvidia 8800 or above

I went for 3 LCD's and 2 video cards. You can do 2 LCD's with main on 1 and 4 on the rest.

This is exactly the same system I bought when my other one died. I got it for like 400 because I was cannibalizing my old computer to sell parts as trade-in.

It works great with keyclone and 5-boxing. I very rarely have freezing up issues.

I used to think that "Triple core" was weaker than quad core, but now it's been pointed out that that's not really the case. Quad core is not a true quad core; IT's more like two dual-cores. But the triple-core uses all three cores at once instead of having the data fed to two cores that each go to one other core.

I run on a huge Olevia monitor/HDTV kind of thing I bought at Staples a few years ago when my monitor died. I think it's 23" so it's about 1.5x as wide as an average flatscreen.I run all 5 in maximizer with PiP (the instructions are linked to somewhere in these forums) with two at 720x540 resolution side by side, and down bottom on the screen the others are set at some other derivative of 800x600. In more technical terms, it's:

    BIG SQUARE / BIG SQUARE

KEYCLONE Little square / Little square / Little Square

Sorry no screenies, but I'm at work right now. Anyway the system works great un-upgraded. Eventually I'll throw a new graphics card and 8gb RAM in there but for now it even works 95% of the time running through Shattrath w/ Crusader Aura on.

Default HD video cards = ???

There is a thread linking this comp and saying it can 5 box wow just fine. Its Gateway's GT5692 model if you are not wanting to click the link.

The video card for this thing is: ATI Radeon HD 3200 Integrated Graphics with up to 256MB of Shared
    Video Memory

How does this compare to nvidia 8800 cards? In general how good of a HD card do you need to 5 box with wow. I have read that the 4850 is great but may be overkill. I have even read that the 8800 is a bit much for wow.

Also as far as i know the gateway machine video is integrated and so you could add another video card to it if needed?
