    Default Suggestions on my RAF plan?

    Hi guys, I've been laying off WoW for quite a while, but I've heard about some new things coming up that sound pretty cool. In case you don't remember, I ran a team of 5 different classes to 70 in the spring. The team was pally, mage, priest, lock, and hunter. Worked pretty well, but this time, I'd like to stay on a smaller scale than before. I'd like to use one of my original accounts to recruit a friend (myself) and get the triple exp while dual-boxing my way to having a level 60 (at least) of every class on a completely different server (and different faction, too... grr, friends that play alliance >.< ). After that, I can level them however I want to 70. Anyway, I came up with two plans that I'd like your suggestions on. The first plan seems to save a little bit of time and frustration (40-50 grind >.< ), but is a lot more complicated and leads to one less character. The second plan takes longer, but is much simpler and gives me one extra character. I'm leaning toward the first plan, since it's shorter, but it's possible my times may be off. What do you guys think of it? I've estimated the time it would take to dual-box a pair of toons to 60 with RAF benefits as around 3 days playtime. I'm not the fastest leveler (I get distracted), but that seemed reasonable. I also estimated the time it takes the same setup to get to level 30 as less than one day. Anyone wanna bite? I'm open to any suggestions, especially from people who have done this type of thing before. Thanks in advance!

    Plan 1:
    hunter + shaman -> 60 grouped (~3 days)
    rogue + any -> 30 grouped (< 1 day)
    rogue -> 30-60 granted (instant)
    mage + warlock -> 60 grouped (~3 days)
    druid + any -> 30 grouped (< 1 day)
    druid -> 30-60 granted (instant)
    priest + warrior -> 60 grouped (~3 days)
    paladin + any -> 30 grouped (< 1 day)
    paladin -> 30-60 granted (instant)
    6 on main, 3 on off, 11 days total?

    Plan 2:
    hunter + shaman -> 60 grouped (~3 days)
    mage + warlock -> 60 grouped (~3 days)
    priest + warrior -> 60 grouped (~3 days)
    paladin + druid -> 60 grouped (~3 days)
    rogue -> 60 granted (instant)
    any -> 60 granted (instant)
    6 on main, 4 on off, 12 days total?

    Just to clarify a bit.....

    You now have 5 accounts and want to add a 6th via the RAF recruit. Right?

    You will then use one of the 5 (vet) to start a new lowbie to level at the same time as a new toon on the new (recruit) account.

    If this is the case then you could use any of the other 4 accounts with a high level on it to boost these 2 lowbies at an accelerated rate and probably hit 60 faster than just questing.

    Then you can power boost a 3rd lowbie on the vet account to 30ish and grant the levels from the orig team to that toon on the vet account.

    I probably should have clarified that none of the accounts are currently active. I will only be activating one veteran account, and I can not use any of my current characters on the realm I will be joining. I suppose I could transfer a toon or two if it came down to it, but I'd prefer not to. I'd rather not boost, either, unless it's just once or twice through an instance I've got quests in.

    edit:whoops clarification while I was typing

    edit2: If you're specifically interested in those two plans, stay away from option 2 at all costs. It's nearly a cardinal sin to waste granted levels for any level below 30.

    Run as many duos to 60 as you can. Run as many other duos to 30 as you can. Grant free levels. Profit.

    Sorry, I totally glazed over the part where you said a different server and even faction lol.

    I personally would go with 1st plan. I just hate granting 30 levels to low character when it sooo easy to get them to at least lvl 20+ in no time at all.

    Also currently blizz has stated that the levels do not disappear when you hit 60 like the faq orig stated. They only go away at the end of the 90 days. Which means in theory you can level your toons past 60 and grant levels past 60 (you stop accruing @ 60 and can only grant up to your recruits level). For example you level your Hunter+Shaman to 66 on both. You have 29 levels to gift from the shaman to any toon on the vet account. Now you can either use them to level a newbie to 30 instantly or take the time to level a toon to 36 and have them boosted instantly to 65. I would much rather do that.

    I know my /played time on my 2 shammies is who are almost 40 is just over a day now. ( I too get easily distracted lol)

    I'm pretty sure you can only grant up to 60 nash. You don't lose the ability to grant levels at 60, but you stop earning new ones I think.

    Anyway friends don't let friends grant levels below 30 or so (unless you're one of those guys with many accounts and computers who wants to have a screenshot of a L60 with 1 min /played for grins)

    Excellent words of wisdom! I'll have to write that one down. Thanks, guys, looks like plan 1 is the winner.

    I would suggest doing the following:
    Vet ToonA -> 59.9
    Vet ToonB -> 32.9
    Friend ToonA -> 60.1

    Grant 1 lvl to Vet ToonA to 60.9, Grant 28 lvls to Vet ToonB to 60.9

    Then repeat if you want 6 toons (and again if you want 9). I might ponder adding a third account as it might make sense to transfer a pally (or mage I suppose) over at lvl 60.9 who can gear up a bit in Outland greens for boosting.
    Rudi's Angels of Baelgun: Josii (Prot Pally), Suzii (Resto Shammie), Tracii (Ele Shammie), Lorii (Boomkin) and Trudii (Frost Mage).

    I would have thought so too but I have seen several posts on the wow forums of ppl granting lvls past 60. Maybe its a bug or maybe they were lying to get attention (not the 1st time that has happened). Im not high enough level to test out yet with my recruit but as soon as I can I sure will test this to see if that is the case.

    Best case I get another toon in the 65+ range. Worst case I still have some levels left over to grant to a different toon.

    Don't forget that RAF characters are 3x as poor as a guy going through the game regularly. There are only three gathering skills and so it will be really difficult to make up that difference on a brand new server.

    Since I don't want to take the time to figure out the quests I must do to get okay gear I just get friends to help me run them through dungeons when their gear gets too low to be effective. I'd say my duo is so gimped right now that they are just a little more effective than soloing. (However they gain XP three times and fast and there are two of them not one, so the overall gain is still 6x the speed of doing it the old way!)

    If you have any friends on your new server with a 70 Prot Pally then you can ignore everything I just wrote. :thumbsup:
