Palidin and Mage or Warlock?

So currently on The forgotten Coast i have a warlock/mage level 8. My friend really wants me to level up a tank. I've seen Paladins in WotLK and they seem very awesome. So i chose that one for the tank. now my dilemma, I'm using autohotkey and Ive done a lot of lurking and it seems there isnt an "easy" way to get the casters into position if im playing the "tank" as my main. So which is easier in terms of caster for not facing the targets. My initial perception is the warlock do to all the dots, I just dont know what ones you need to be facing the target and which ones you dont necessarily need to be facing.

Mage = Glass Cannon + Water Vendor + Portals (huge decrease in travel times)
Warlock = Mobile DPS (dot and run) + Pet (Curse of Elementals in Wrath may effect Holy Damage? Not sure)

Yeh that was exactly what i was thinking. But with mages i'm worried about the positioning issue(like for example the mage gets attacked from behind and i start swinging from the front the mage cant cast spells at it..(poor example i know cause i could just move to the behind of the monster and the mage SHOULD turn around...) . If warlocks dont have the positioning issue problem then the only benefit from mages is Vending machine + portals. Very torn...

Are you dualboxing? If so, use what you like. Portals are no longer an issue, since you can simply bind in shatt and use the portals there most of the time. Lock has some nice buffs (ok, one buff: water breathing) which makes some quests more easy. DoTs and the Pet are another plus. Mage has CC which isn't that bad either.
In the end the question is: what do you want to play?

Yes im sorry, I guess i wasnt clear I would be dualboxing either a Palidan/Mage or Palidan/Warlock. Im just really concerned with the whole making sure the caster is facing the mob(using AHK). I ran into that alot when i was doing druid/mage and I couldnt think of a good way to remedy that. But if a warlock doesnt have to be conerned with facing the mob as much as a mage then I will probably be doing the Palidan/warlock combo

I have a pally + priest + 2 mages, and what I do is bind a key to do a different movement on each follower (mage 1 moves left, mage 2 moves right, priest steps forward). That way they break follow and I just run forward towards the mob with my pally. When killing is done I tap they key that is binded to the follow macro and they follow again. If I get unlucky and have mobs approaching from behind, I can either run through them tapping my follow macro, then once on the other side tap the move key to make them break follow, or I could use the movement arrows (unbind them on the main) to turn them that way.

umm can i get more details from you? what is the actual script your using. I saw a solution for the "formations" for keyclone...but im scared of keyclone(for a security reason)...so i use AutoHotkey. That is a great idea but i need more specifics and gorey details. Im a computer programmer IRL so it wont scare me i understand how i have my AHK set up.

No need for scripts, I just use the default keybinds in the game. You can assign 2 keys to each so I just add an extra custom one.

I just did the following changes:
- on all 3 alts, remove the WASD keybinds (or add them to the 'do not transmit' list instead)
- on my priest I added the F key as a keybind for moving forward
- on mage no1 I added the F key as a keybind for moving left
- on mage no2 I added the F key as a keybind for moving right
- on main you can unbind the F key or bind it to an action you want him to do in this scenario

So, in effect, when I'm on my pally and pressing the F key, the 3 alts will each move in a different direction.
I use Keyclone and the F key gets transmitted to each wow instance, but each has a different result based on what is binded to it.

I haven't tried AHK, but I'm sure it would be easy to do as it's just sending the same key press to each window and using the in-game bindings.

Depends on the situation, I would either go grab it with my pally and step back so that the mob is in front of my caster, or I would go behind my caster and tank the mob there. With the 2nd option I would either use the right/left arrows to turn the caster 180 degrees, or tap the follow macro and then the break follow macro once the caster is facing the right way.

I never thought of breaking my follow macro that is a really good idea. Does jumping break the follow state? or should i just go ahead and redo the keybind on move right and set that to F
