XP Bug?

OK, I've spent 30 minutes searching for the answer to this & prefer not to spend another 30 as I'd rather be leveling (I'm sure you'll understand).

I noticed last night that my lead character on a 2x set up is getting more xp per kill than my 2nd acct character (and not just on quest turn ins that go "grey" after the 1st guy turns it in). I was having a hard time understanding why my 2nd guy was constantly falling behind on xp so I began to pay closer attention after kills. After watching the xp flash up after 10 kills, the evidence was undeniable. The lead character is getting more xp per kill than the 2nd one. The difference is not great but it is enough to make a difference after a couple levels. The quest turn in xp is the same for each character.

Yes, the accounts are linked. Yes, the characters are the same level. Yes, the characters are grouped.

Can anyone clue me in to why there is a difference? I apoligize if this was already covered (please be a good chap & link the thread if it has).

Hmm.....based on what you have provided the xp should be the same for both vet and recruit account. Which means you have to be leaving something out. Is there another toon grouped or ungrouped running with these 2? (high level boosting perhaps?)

What is the xp difference?

How did you link the accounts? A->B->C?

The only bug I have read about recently revolves around some chain quests not granting triple xp on all toons when turned in.

If you are trying to run a higher level to boost 2 lower levels and they are all linked then it wont work. For example you have a 70 linked to 1 new account then that new account is linked to a 2nd new account. The 70 trumps the xp from the 1st new account but the 2nd is ok (not linked to 70 account) and is able to get triple xp on mobs. This scenario would explain your difference in xp. If this is the case then you're screwed. You cant use the 70 to boost and will have to start a new low level toon on that account to run with the other 2 to get full advantage.

there are no other toons grouped - both toons are/were level 30 & main toon was getting 6-10 more xp per kill than the 2nd - I'll look again next time on to see if it's still happening

No you're not going crazy.

I've seen this when I was levelling with my fiance. Her druid would get a few XP more than me, which didn't seem much at the time but over a few levels it meant she was ahead by a fair margin, even thought we were killing the same mobs, handing in the same quests etc.

No idea why it does it

I have the exact same thing happening but none of my accounts are linked. And the further my characters grow apart from one another the greater the difference. Like you said, the amount is much but it does add up.

Ive seen a similiar thing occasionally, at the time I assumed I screwed something up. I have leveled several teams to 60+ with RAF, & have only seen it for short periods.

I have no idea what causes it, using the same accounts with the same links:

A>B>C>D (And another non linked Account to PL)

Sometimes randomly one of the lowbies will get different XP, but its only for a kill or two. Oh well, for me it was very infrequent, it simply means they don't ding at exactly the same time.

One case I did realize was if you are PLing in SM , & You Quickly kill the guard by the door right as your toons load in, sometimes 1 or more dont register it as RAF.

thanks for the replies - glad to know I wasn't seeing things - incidently, I tried letting B acct do a collection quest here & there to make up the difference - seems to be working out pretty well
