Default Going back to my mixed classes

I went back and wanted to give my same classes some rest (for more exp). So I pick up my 52's mixed classes and head off to ST. I smoked ST on my hunters at 50, and 51 on my shammies. The mixed was pally main, warrior, priest, warlock, hunter. No problems on normal mobs. But one add and my healer got aggro and I had to stop what I was going and get it. Crap that was annoying. Thunderclap works for AOE tanking, but it missed a mob once or twice and then the mob hits my healer. What is this aggro stuff, never had to worry about that with my same classes. What, my DPS has to hold off kiling stuff cause they will steal aggro and then get hit so much and killed? My same classes died about 2-3 times in 50+ levels, and my warrior and priest died about 8 times in ST. /cry

I admit I wasn't used to playing with them or their playstyle. But still. It wasn't fun. It was good in theory, they had strong abilities, you just had to jump through hoops to use them all. The hunter was either running out of mana hitting every mob with 2 shots or just auto-shooting and doing less DPS. The warlock didn't have time to wind up his DOTs so he wasn't helping much. The pally should have backup healed so the priest didn't get as much aggro or run out of mana, but that isn't fun to heal when you are used to DPS. My shammies hardly have to heal with 4 heal totems, a few health regen items and 1 chain heal.

Maybe I just wasn't in the mood to micromanage 5 classes. It was fun when I didn't know any better, but now it just seems like work like before I used a key broadcaster. So, maybe I will scavange my 2 locks and make my 4 lock and 1 priest team that I should have done like forever ago. Yeah, I am supposed to do 5 locks just to prove it can be done (people can't believe I use 5 hunters and no healer), but It just seems easier to have a resser, stam buff, spriit buff, HOT, let alone a AOE heal. Wish me luck and give your condolences to my mixed classes.

When I first started to M box , I did not think you could call yourself a M-boxer until you boxed the three standard class priest war mage.

Many seem to only box 1 or 2 different classes. Main reason is its easier to do that.

So dont like easy , some do

I just love mixed classes and reaching that point where you realize you have to few fingers. All of a sudden you got your hands crossed over your keyboard placing totem, buffing and moving into position ;D

Hope you go with your mixed setup!

I came to Multiboxing after single boxing prot warrior, priest (heal and dps), rogue and hunter. After playing that lot all to 70 and raiding with them all I dont' have a problem with understanding a group dynamic. If I hadnt, a mixed multi box group especially with a warrior as the tank would confuse the hell out of me.

What youre doing is playing and understanding the class roles. if you dont get them then its going to end in fail for a good amount of time until you begin to understand whats going on. First off get Omen2 threat meter and put it on each of your guys. With the set up you have to get the max threat from your pally, mana conservative but effective healing and max dps from your guys you would have to be an absolute master of each of those classes and have a very peculiar brain. Clever nmacro management would be essential. Most Multiboxers I have found go for group synergy on mixed classes. That means that their dps and healers although mixed fight well together as they can share macros. A hunter is a very peculiar dps beast imop and when you mix in a lok and then a dps warrior youre asking for trouble.

If youre new to mixed classes i would mix it up just a little bit at first.

Even with having played a lot of classes to and past 70 If i used your set up I would fail very hard indeed. I prbably wouldnt lose aggro but the dps warrior would freak me out. I would use your usual set up but put one new class in then build up from there.

I guess everything depends on your preferences. If you want to smash through instances by pressing as few buttons as possible 5 x shamans is probably the way to go. If you want a more complex and challenging experience a mixed group is the way to go.

I always play mixed groups. I have about ten characters that I try to keep at about the same level (they are between level 60 and 65 now). I always use the same protection paladin tank. I have two healers to choose from; a holy paladin and a holy priest. And then I throw in any 3 DPS's from my pool of fire mage, destruction warlock, elemental shaman, feral druid, fury warrior and combat rogue. Whatever I feel like to play that day.

There's a lot of things to keep track of when playing five different classes, but so far all instances up to Underbog have been doable. I don't know about heroics though, perhaps they will be too hard for my mixed groups.

It sounds like you are using the warrior to tank and the pally to DPS. If so, I think that's your problem, not mixed classes.

I have tons of experience doing heroics with both 2-class and 4-class setups where my pally is tanking. I have put in about 25 hours trying to tank with my epicced prot warrior and no matter what classes I put with him, it is fail. I can finish heroics, but it takes almost twice as long with a couple of wipes each time. When it comes down to it, tanking with a warrior is possible, but it just isn't fun.
